In this Visual Basic beginner programming tutorial, I'll be walking you through the creation of your own sound class to help you implement music and sound effects in your game.

With mciSendString you'll be able to play multiple sounds simultaneously, as well as control their volume, and stop sounds as desired.

In spite of its limitations, it's a pretty handy tool for adding sound to your app.´╗┐

The third installment in my GDI game programming series for visual basic. This video steps you through creating a 2D tilemap from a tileset. The first part of the video illustrates how I organized my tileset and created seamless tiles. It's a bit long winded, so if you want to skip the graphics part and go straight into tile mapping, you can just skip to (12:36).

Gah learning so many new things. Going to have to create a new series. I guess these oldies are still good for elementary use and getting the gist of how things work.´╗┐
