Can't get enough of this one. This whole album is incredibly catchy. And we are seeing them in March!

Top Five Songs of 2011, in no particular order:

Every time F+tM comes out with an album, I initially think "this stuff is too cheesy for me," and then become hooked shortly thereafter. This song is awesome all the way through but the best bit is at 3:31 when the drums kick back in behind the full chorus.

(This video is really not very good. It annoys me because every time that she's waving her arms around it's not in time at all. I see she got someone to give her the hat that Virginia Woolf wore in The Hours though.)

Starts out slow, but you'll see what I'm talking about when they start doing that piano thing. And then they stop doing that piano thing and you wish that they hadn't stopped. And then you get your wish, because they start doing it again.

This is what I'm thinking about in the wake of all the Red Sox news: http://www.boston.com/sports/columnists/wilbur/2011/10/red_sox_exit_st.html

I'm not saying everyone else is entirely blameless, but I really wish we could fire the owners. You want to change the culture, you have to start at the top.
You're on notice now, Theo. It's only a matter of time before Epstein's new position with the Chicago Cubs becomes official, and the teeth marks on Larry Lucchino's tongue receive a long-awaited

Gorgeous mystery paper sculptures.
Those of you who don't keep up with Edinburgh's literary world through Twitter may have missed the recent spate of mysterious paper sculptures appearing around the city. Guardian article, 3rd March 2...

This one took a while to grow on me, but unlike most songs where the appeal starts to wear off after a while, this one has only gotten better the more I've listened to it. Also, I usually find lyrics disappointing once I figure them out (it takes me a while) but I love these, especially the creepy image of the baby teeth.

No worries. This song came out a month or so after I made your mix cd, or else it would easily have made it on there.

Another one with quality piano. I enjoy the lyrics too, for the most part, and I love the rhymes that come together without sounding forced. (After he gets in the car with Bob none of it makes much sense anymore, but that's okay - I'm too distracted by the piano to be bothered.)

Hey Google, what's with removing Reader from my navigation bar in Gmail? Do you just not want me to use Google Reader anymore? Because I'm sure I can easily find another one that will suit my needs if that's how you feel about it.

The problem with food blogs is they often make me want to completely drop my preexisting (and pre-shopped-for) meal plans in favor of OMGTHATLOOKSDELICIOUS.

It is a perfect evening for cheese and bread and soup... all rainy and cool.

I'll give them a shot next year. We've officially decided to move the garden off the porch and into the yard next year, and I'm hoping the plants will be more productive that way.
