Another monster collaboration between Jack Savage and myself.
Oonah Joslin is poetry editor at The Linnet’s Wings. She once visited Loch Ness — alas without sighting the monster within — until she looked at her reflection of course, then eve…

"Rio has refused to postpone the games and the W.H.O (World Health Organisation) has not supported the scientists – remember how slow they were with Ebola? It is worth also noting that the W.H.O is a partner of the I.O.C (International Olympic Committee)!"

“The king sits in Dunfermline town drinking the blood red wine” Ballad of Patrick Spens was all I knew about Dunfermline — before this weekend. Of course it’s historic so shame on me! The ancient abbey with its Durham cathedral-like pillars abuts the new…

Two poems out today :) of which this is the second and Editor John Stocks said of it: "The different twist on the poppy metaphor is outstanding and the taut conclusion is genuinely moving. I loved it."

It seems someone stole Shakespeare's skull despite the warning on his tomb that 'cursed be he who move my bones.' It seems somebody stole his skull. G.P.R. shows that it is gone. They had to break through brick and stone inside the church to steal his skull and yet this sacrilege was done. It seems…

It's a great place -- lovely ambience. Good food. I needed a low fat option and though there were vegan options, those are not necessarily low in fat. But they obliged me with a vegan salad with the dressing brought in a small bowl on the side and I ate the salad naked -- it was delicious! We ate an almond meringue between two -- HUGE thing! and equally gorgeous!! Nice place.

It wasn't the food so much as the attitude. I need a low fat option because of a medical condition but I was friends who didn't. I asked what I could have a rather dismissively the waiter said, 'Steamed chicken'. Then after explaining at length what I required, they brought my salad smothered in OLIVE OIL. I said, Erm this salad has oil on it and the waiter said, 'But it's good oil -- olive oil.' You know the bit about the customer being right? Where'd that go? Another Italian place we went to later in our trip could not have been more helpful. I ended up eating the soup and the grilled steak but no salad and no dessert. I have to say the others in my party were not that impressed either!
