The bacteria that causes the tooth decay is actually caught from another person. This is why many people who lead apparently impoverished lives have no tooth decay. They do not have that bacteria in their mouths. The bacteria is often spread by a parent licking her finger and then putting it in the baby's mouth, sometimes to keep baby quiet. Good health, healthy lifestyle and healthy diet certainly help to keep the bacteria at low levels.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. To make the crust: Place the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter and cinnamon in a food processor fitted with a steel blade and pulse until combined. Pour into a 9-inch springform pan. With your hands, press the crumbs into the bottom of the pan.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted chocolate, 2 cups granulated sugar, 1/2 cup canola oil, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract. Stir in the eggs, one at a time until combined. In a separate mixing bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, and salt until thoroughly combined.
