Food: One home-run (large portion of Puck’s signature Wiener schnitzel) and one C+ short ribs nightly special (too fatty and a tiny portion), and an excellent chocolate souffle. Atmosphere: not quite as elegant as the old restaurant but still beautiful and, for the most part, quiet enough to have a conversation (a rarity in L.A. these days), but the noise increased (though not too intrusive) when they piped in (bizarrely) some country music, and it was about to get much noisier at the time we were about to leave, there being a large wedding taking place seemingly throughout the hotel, with multiple music venues. Something worth checking out when you make a reservation. As to all the reviewers who complained about “exorbitant” prices: give me a break! Wolfgang Puck plus Hotel Bel-Air does not equal MacDonald’s prices.

This transformation from an elegant dining experience into a modern, somewhat glitzy atmosphere, a limited menu, only adequate taste and exorbitant pricing is a major disappointment. Even the Bel Air residents are being ripped off with expensive special events that are not very good and don't provide sufficient food. Diners aren't treated like special guests. Instead we have become sources of income starting with the mandatory valet parking.

After several visits have now changed my mind about this restaurant. Prices FAR too high, food value FAR too low. See through smoked salmon as a starter for $24…..Lobster Cobb Salad with seven pieces of small lobster, bad lettuce - small and frankly tasteless dressing $34 - disgusting…..Even the Cappuccino was like dirty dish water. Will not be returning. Only redeeming factor - it's pretty, however, one cannot EAT PRETTY.

The food was spotty at best for the criminal prices charged at this chain, which did manage to wow in decoration.

The Bel Aire restaurant is very good looking and wonderful for a special occassion. The service was perfect and the food wonderful if not high priced. As a tip try the bar area with a reasonable priced menu.

A classic Puck revival of what was a tired and old dining room at the Bel Air Hotel. The renovation is beautiful, the service top notch and the Puck menu and food outstanding. For those who don't like the renovation---stay home---its hard enough to get a reservation as it is.
