Growing up in Pakistan listening to Dylan, Young, Led Zeppelin and other contemporaries, a friend introduced me to Sugar Man more than a decade ago. Sadly, I never took the time to know Rodriguez's music then. After seeing the movie, I realize that Rodriguez lived the life I always imagined that Dylan did when I first listened to his music.
Thanks +Naomi Black! Since getting my copy of Pressure Perfect on Friday and I've already been through four recipes - lamb biryani, beef and wild rice soup, potato fennel soup, and pears and figs in mulled wine sauce. Only the lamb biryani was a disappointment, as I misread the instructions.
Honestly, my wife's a better cook so she'll usually cook. It works out better for the both of us. I take over during the weekend and when she has class in the evening. My problem is that I have little patience with recipes and tend to veer off and experiment. Thanks for sharing your recipe, I'll let you know how it turns out. Soups are great for the winter in Chicago.
It's my first time making risotto and my appreciation for the love and dedication (aka constant attention) required to make good risotto has gone up considerably. It's definitely not your run of the mill rice dish. It was supposed to be a side-dish, but has definitely taken over on center court.
I have to agree with Wozniak. This movie, so far, seems like a complete disappointment and a distortion of reality, based on Job's book. It also seems like Ashton Kutcher's is playing the same exact role he depicts on Two and a Half Men. Very disappointing This is not a movie I intend to watch.
I recently discovered the wine vintage chart at the back of the Zagat. Unlike other vintage charts, this one's simple to use and memorize. If you're ever ordering wine in a restaurant, I'd recommend jotting down a few good vintages. In a good year, even the lower-end wines are likely to be great.
I've donated both money and time in the past, but when I look back I feel disappointed at the impact.
Therefore, I've been thinking a lot about the best ways to give charity. I'e been really thinking through how to prioritize who to give charity to, the most effective ways to give charity, and how much to give.
I have a lot of my own rough thoughts, but I don't feel like I have a fully coherent model yet. If anyone can recommend a site / book that they believe is helpful, I'd be really indebted. Thanks!
Best person to give you this answer is Kishwer Aziz. Today a beggar's son has the same educations as a rich man's son at a small school in Azam Basti. I was at the school today and a director from the AKU had come to asses the class that will sit for matric exam from the AKU Board. The standard of the AKU Board is highest is Pakistan. So your contribution has gone a long way.
