This is a rant. I'm a little peeved with my local bike dealer. No need to bad mouth and name names, it gets around on its own.
Yesterday was the third time, twice in a row, where I've dropped in to drool on the bikes and ask some questions, and no staff is there. They're open but no sales staff. They also have an email policy where they only reply to emails twice per week. My last email was not replied to at all. I put a deposit to this dealer for a new bike, but I find this a little frustrating. I'm not sure how you can run a business like this. I've been to visit another dealer, while much further away from where I live, they expressed great interest in taking my business. I sent them an email yesterday to see how interested. And may move my deposit.
My local dealer has never been too bad, the staff is friendly, but not outgoing. when they are there they do answer my questions, except for accessory prices, "email the parts department".
Even when my wife was in before Christmas to buy me a T-shirt as a present, she complained to the staff, about the available sizes. Apparently motorcycle riders only come in size small and XXL.
I don't ask a lot from customer service, but it's about the little things. If you're not going to staff your location, change your days open or limit your hours. I can live with that. But I hate driving all that way only to find no one there and I'm not calling ahead every time to see if someone's there.
That is my rant, thanks for listening.
