My husband and I Eat at Joe's about 4 times a year. Each visit to this location in Sugar Land on the Southwest Freeway at 99 has been GREAT!! We have received excellent service and the food was delicious. Their house salads are among the best, always crisp lettuce and fresh ingredients. Tasty shrimp and fries. You should give it a try if in the area or instead of sitting out there in the daily traffic bottleneck in the evenings.

Not exactly a favorite after a couple of visits. High prices for unexceptional food, and the food generally is somewhat better than the service. Last visit was the proverbial straw. "Skillet" paella -- but how in hell do you pass of a dish with no rice in it as a paella? Not too bad as a lukewarm seafood stew in a skillet, I suppose, but I trusted that I was going to get something at least remotely resembling paella. On the other plates, shrimp was overcooked ... as were the hush puppies. The cole slaw was the best thing we got served -- with a bill approaching the $100 mark for four including a modest (but overly generous at that) tip for adequately modest service.

I've been to other Joe's Crab Shacks and while some are good and some are okay, this place was terrible. The wait staff was completely indifferent, our meals were barely room temperature when they served us and lobster tasted terrible. Avoid this location.
