Wicked Weed Brewpub

Located in a spectacularly renovated art deco building in the heart of historic Asheville, Wicked Weed Brewing is a two level restaurant and brewery with a vast amount of indoor/outdoor space. Boasting a seasonal elevated pub menu, the brewery is a hub of activity that always offers something new to try.

Equipped with a 15 barrel system, brewers keep the flagship restaurant supplied with over 25 house beers. On any given day, the brewpub is serving a huge variety of barrel aged beers, open fermented Belgian ales and hoppy West Coast style brews. Having won a gold at the 2013 Great America Beer Fest for American Style Brett Beer, Wicked Weed has gained national recognition for their sours and wild ales. These beers styles take precedence at their Funkatorium on 147 Coxe Avenue, just three blocks from the brewpub.

BAD, BAD, BAD, service. We got there at 2:30 this Sunday afternoon. Sat in the outside area. Several empty tables. It took about 10 minutes for someone to come speak to us. We ordered our drinks and food and she was gone again about 10 minutes. When the drinks arrived, she had brought one of our guests the wrong beer. We again ordered what she had originally requested in the first place and the waitress put the wrong beer on the table next to us and immediately walked over to the long table out front that was totally full of people and began taking orders. Our food arrived about 5 minutes later and still no replacement beer. Our friend ate her entire lunch before the replacement beer arrived. I wanted to raise hell but our friend said she just wanted to finish and get out of there. Terrible!!!!!

The food, great. The beer, wonderful, but as every low star review has claimed the service and atmosphere were akward and strange. We thought it was. Because we were an inter racial couple . when we walked in the host was talking and it took what appeared to be a bus boy a few minutes to attend to us. The server seemed awkward like ...idk what. So I do.

Been here three times. Good food, good beer, some passionate servers, and some not so passionate servers. The vibe of the place is fun and I felt very relaxed. A must stop if you're in town.

I am a 35 years old and went with my wife, daughter and new born son on a Sunday afternoon. Was denied beer because I am legally blind and they would not accept my official New York State Id card. I called the manager over and she told me because I do not have a drivers license and can not drive a car that the A L E laws state that I can not purchase beer at their establishment. I rarely loose my cool, but this is truly unacceptable. I have been going to bars in Asheville for many years now and never once in a bar, grocery story any where have been denied because my ID card does not say Drivers license. The only legal distinguishing difference between an ID and drivers license is the ability to drive. This is truly messed up. Screw Wicked Weed! Don't waste your time.

The People's Choice Pale Ale hit the spot. They always have an excellent taste in beer, and always a different selection, so this place never gets old. Add to that the great food and friendly staff and you've got one place you absolutely cannot skip when you come to Asheville. Wicked Weed definitely stands out from the other breweries.

Was really excited to check this place out as an out of towner. Walked in and immediately the server told us to get the f up out of the spot we were sitting in if we werent ordering food. Absolutely incredible, have never seen anything like this before in my life. We ended up complaining to the manager about this type of behavior and the owner comes out and starts mouthing off too. It was like the Twilight Zone. Owner starts cussing at our group and essentially says leave. So we left. Looked cool but honest to God the worst experience Ive ever seen in terms of customer service. The place is a joke and awfully proud of itself for some reason

One of the coolest spots to enjoy a beer. On a summer night, the temps are usually just right and the beers are flowin'. Their in-house brews are great especially if you like sours and other "not typical" beer styles. The upstairs bar and outdoor area are great, but you can always take it out back and downstairs for a more pub-like feel if you need to. I go to dozens of bars and breweries a year; this is still one of my favorites.

Hostess was friendly and seated us immediately. It all went downhill from there. After being ignored for 15 minutes we got up and left. Don't waste your time here. Hi-Wire Brewery is close by and a great experience with great customer service.
