Wicked Weed Brewpub

Located in a spectacularly renovated art deco building in the heart of historic Asheville, Wicked Weed Brewing is a two level restaurant and brewery with a vast amount of indoor/outdoor space. Boasting a seasonal elevated pub menu, the brewery is a hub of activity that always offers something new to try.

Equipped with a 15 barrel system, brewers keep the flagship restaurant supplied with over 25 house beers. On any given day, the brewpub is serving a huge variety of barrel aged beers, open fermented Belgian ales and hoppy West Coast style brews. Having won a gold at the 2013 Great America Beer Fest for American Style Brett Beer, Wicked Weed has gained national recognition for their sours and wild ales. These beers styles take precedence at their Funkatorium on 147 Coxe Avenue, just three blocks from the brewpub.

The food, great. The beer, wonderful, but as every low star review has claimed the service and atmosphere were akward and strange. We thought it was. Because we were an inter racial couple . when we walked in the host was talking and it took what appeared to be a bus boy a few minutes to attend to us. The server seemed awkward like ...idk what. So I do.

I am a 35 years old and went with my wife, daughter and new born son on a Sunday afternoon. Was denied beer because I am legally blind and they would not accept my official New York State Id card. I called the manager over and she told me because I do not have a drivers license and can not drive a car that the A L E laws state that I can not purchase beer at their establishment. I rarely loose my cool, but this is truly unacceptable. I have been going to bars in Asheville for many years now and never once in a bar, grocery story any where have been denied because my ID card does not say Drivers license. The only legal distinguishing difference between an ID and drivers license is the ability to drive. This is truly messed up. Screw Wicked Weed! Don't waste your time.

Hostess was friendly and seated us immediately. It all went downhill from there. After being ignored for 15 minutes we got up and left. Don't waste your time here. Hi-Wire Brewery is close by and a great experience with great customer service.

Pretty large brewery in Asheville. I thought the place lacked the character I was expecting for Asheville since it was a new building (or at least it looked new). It had a whole bunch of TV's like a brand new sports bar. I was expecting more a traditional pub that had been there for decades. It was a bonus that it definitely had a large outdoor seating area perfect for a great day. I definitely enjoyed my suds there, but it isn't a pub I would go out of my way to visit.

Was really excited to check this place out as an out of towner. Walked in and immediately the server told us to get the f up out of the spot we were sitting in if we werent ordering food. Absolutely incredible, have never seen anything like this before in my life. We ended up complaining to the manager about this type of behavior and the owner comes out and starts mouthing off too. It was like the Twilight Zone. Owner starts cussing at our group and essentially says leave. So we left. Looked cool but honest to God the worst experience Ive ever seen in terms of customer service. The place is a joke and awfully proud of itself for some reason

One of the coolest spots to enjoy a beer. On a summer night, the temps are usually just right and the beers are flowin'. Their in-house brews are great especially if you like sours and other "not typical" beer styles. The upstairs bar and outdoor area are great, but you can always take it out back and downstairs for a more pub-like feel if you need to. I go to dozens of bars and breweries a year; this is still one of my favorites.

Some of the best sours on this coast, as well as solid and innovative non-sour beers, made by some very cool and accommodating people. Best brewery in Asheville in my book. Cheers, y'all!

Hip place to sit back and enjoy some really good craft brews. The space is warm and inviting and you should feel at home entering the spacious serving area. It's decorated with warm colors and themed well. They have a good variety of brews on tap and that should appease most of the beer drinking crowd.
