Arch 22 ✌︎ Also known as the July 22nd Arch is a commemorative arch on the Banjul road; more like it's the gate to Banjul.
It was designed by Senegalese architect Pierre Goudiaby and built in 1996 at a cost of £720,000 to commemorate the 22 July, 1994 coup, which brought Yahya Jammeh to power. It is 35m tall and has at its base a statute of an unknown soldier carrying a baby, making the peace sign with a rifle strapped across his back. #Monument #Banjul #Gambia 🇬🇲

Accra Furqan Mosque

The mosque, being built by the Government of Turkey is a replica of the Sultan Ahmed Mosque (Blue Mosque) in Istanbul to highlight the relationship between our two countries.

When completed, it'll be the new National Mosque and have a capacity of about 7,400. Initial budget was $7 million but it's estimated to cost $10 million when completed in early 2016. A conference and office complex will be built next to the mosque. #Ghana
