Please help us spread the word about this. We have created a petition to stop the John Muir Trust killing so many red deer in Scotland. This is having a huge impact on the local communities beside JMT land and is causing great hardship for many people.

Monday  3rd… Durness Puffin walk; visit the small colony of puffins at Faraid head; this may be the final chance to see them this year - however they have possibly already gone :( - Walking across beautiful Balnakeil beach and returning through the amazing dunes. Meet at Balnakeil beach car park. Time 2pm – 4pm.
 
Thursday 6th Scourie…north shore. Outstanding views, moorland, seabirds, bit of geology. Rough ground, few paths. Meet at the village pier car park at 10.30am. Grid ref. NC 155448. 3hrs.
 
Wednesday 5th…Kyle of Durness; 3hr coastal walk around a stunning area of wild flowers, views, seabirds and signs of otters. Meet at Durness golf course car park at 10.30am. Grid ref NC 389687.
 
Monday 10th …Durness, Faraid head dunes. A beautiful beach walk then exploring the fascinating sand dunes, flowers, birds and old bones! 2hrs approx. Meet at Balnakeil beach car park at 10.30am.

Thursday 13th…Scourie sea cliffs; an undulating coastal walk, with cliffs, great views, caves, wild flowers and otter signs. Meet at the Free church car park at the south end of the village. Time 10.30am – 1.30pm. Grid ref NC 152434.
 
Tuesday 18th…Tongue – the watch hill [307m]. 10.30am. – 1.30pm. Amazing views across the Kyle, moorland, loch and wildlife. Rough walking. Meet at the roadside car park at Coldbackie.

Thursday 20th …Scourie; garnets and dikes; coastal walk with fine views, seabirds, geology, wildflowers and signs of otters. Meet at Scourie beach bird hide at 10.30am. 3hrs. Grid ref NC 151446.
 
Tuesday 25th…Kylestrome; coastal & moorland hike across hill ground overlooking Eddrachilles bay, chance of seeing red deer, eagles, ravens or buzzard. Meet at roadside car park on the A894 at the top of Kylestrome brae. Grid ref. NC 211350. 10.30am – 1.30pm.
 
Thursday 27th…Scourie; Loch Leathad trail, by path across moorland, hill and lochside, fine views, woodland, birds and flowers. Meet at Scourie depot road, 300m south of village. 10.30 – 1.30pm.
