Some thoughts on 15 intriguing casual (60-card deck) cards from the new Commander set. Lots of new toys to brew with.

Magic Origins has a surprising number of cool cards for the casual crowd.
Here is what I'm looking forward to :)
The Core Set has long been the cornerstone of the Magic: The Gathering universe over its 20+ year history, dating back to Alpha, Beta, Unlimited, and then Revised. One could always count on the core set to be the all-encompas...

Yes, I am THAT Guy in Casual Magic
The Mana Pool is one of my favourite Magic: the Gathering
podcasts, and one of the few geared towards casual players. The most recent episode, #377 Aaron’s Fifteen Minutes of Fame , hit home as Aaron talked about being THAT Casual guy: Aaron comes on to tal...

MTG: 11 Intriguing Casual Cards from Dragons of Tarkir
Due to some real life events, and the fact that Fate Reforged came out not that long ago, I haven't really gotten into Dragons of Tarkir as much as I would normally do for any new set. One rant before I begin: Where are all the frickin' baby dragons? WOTC...

MTG: 15 Intriguing Casual Cards from Commander 2015
Although Return to Zzzzzzzzendikar was a disappointing experience, it seems that we are getting our Christmas, after all, as Santa WOTC decided to stuff all of the cool toys into this year's Commander stocking. While the Commander 2015 offering is a 'casual...

Inspired by The Mana Pool podcast, I give a little perspective from the point-of-view of a long-time casual Magic player.

Just sharing some casual thoughts on some intriguing cards from Fate Reforged :)
Fate Reforged is due out tomorrow, and, as always, there are a bunch of cards that are intriguing for this casual player. This set had to be built differently, as it is bridging two different draft formats. Fate Reforged will...

This is the most unprofessional and unhelpful property management company I've had the displeasure of dealing with, and given how unhelpful most property management companies I've dealt with are, that is saying a lot. Our strata is now in its third property manager in six months, as the previous managers were dumped for poor service. Each agent we've had rarely picks up the phone, replies to emails with terse, uninformative replies, and deflects any responsibility. Many times, our issues were never brought up with council. Stay far away from this company, even if they are the cheaper option for your strata.

If you love terrible service, dirty floors, and bland food, The Naam is the place for you. Instead of making tasty dishes that happen to be meatless, The Naam makes very bland dishes that are meant to make you hate eating, in general. The Naam lives off of its reputation of being 'the vegetarian place', but you are better off getting a vegetarian dish from any other restaurant.

Our local mall, but one I would travel to. Brentwood looks quite busy from the full parking lot, but is actually a lot less crowded and full of annoying brats than Metrotown or Lougheed. The Food Court selection is quite good (and not all chains) and there is a full range of shops here.
