East view at the ridge of Mt Yarigatake. The sun pillar appeared just before the daybreak. I've ever seen it twice here but never seen such a red sky througt the altostratus. Northern Alps/Nagano Prefecture. Best viewed large

Sun pillar : a kind of atmospheric phenomena that is caused by the optical reflection of the sun being just below the horizontal line. It is different with the sun ray.

P.S I'll be back the Northern Alps tomorrow again.

My first event of this summer was the hike of three nights four days in the Northern Alps. This shot was taken at the ridge of Mt Yumioridake (2,592 m) after climbing Mt Yarigatake which can be seen upper left in this image and is my most favorite mountain. I'm going to be back the mountains soon again. Have wonderful summer (or winter) days, my friends and everyone! See you later! Northern Alps/Gifu Prefecture. Best viewed large

The rain front is marking the end of the rainy season. Seems it will move to the north within several days. Woo hoo! This is it! I'm getting very excited to be back the Northern Alps again.

Behind the scene is shown-off to you guys. :-)
The final output has quite a different representation against the original HDR composite image. I don't know where is the borderline of images included in photography. Sometimes, it looks like simply fineart or CG art despite all the actual things.
