The Tattie-Bogle

The tattie-bogle wags his airms:
Caw! Caw! Caw!
He hasna onie banes or thairms:
Caw! Caw! Caw!

We corbies wha hae taken tent,
And wamphl’d round, and glower’d asklent,
Noo gang hame lauchin owre the bent:
Caw! Caw! Caw!

William Soutar

I'd forgotten what a Tattie Bogle was after all these years and had to Google refresh myself.
I hope you all have learnt something yourselves now.

A little something to get your brain thinking about the animal kingdom around you and it'll also help my daughter with her degree.
I don't ask much of you and this should only take a few minutes of your time.

Thanks in advance.

Proud Dad moment (there has been another couple of times).
Graduation ceremony went well with a lovely buffet afterwards.

3 generations of the family together is a picture I'll be saving for future.

Sad times. 😥

Tuckers Maltings in Newton Abbott have been producing traditional floor malted barley for almost 200 years, supplying some of the best local brewery's and us home artisan brewers with a top quality product but the time has come to pack up shop.
After almost 200 years it has become non viable to malt in this traditional way against modern day methods and that makes me sad.

Each kilo of malted grain produces roughly 10 pints of ale, add the other sack I have in storage and I have enough for a rather large party. 😂
