David Brin originally shared:

Humanity’s great leap forward: About 30,000 years ago,"civilization" sped up with trade of items and ideas. One scholar argues this sharing allowed advances to happen more by copying others’ ideas and reduced the need for innovators. I provide some perspective and show evidence that this old horse won't trot.

There's a copy in my office. Rest assured the book isn't too too new age, it just entertains the "astonishing hypothesis" that our brains are not floating in glass casks next to the amontillado stash. That said-- reminds me-- you and JP might want to keep tabs on some of our EMG during decision-making stuff-- seems like there might be a very cool alternate application of your model. I understand the coffee roasting world's move toward not over-roasting coffees to grant survival to the fruitier flavor compounds. But seriously guys, if I splurge for some high end El Salvador stuff, can it at least be f'ing fully roasted? I mean, this is getting ridiculous.
