Love this Place! My first choice for major grocery shopping. Organic produce. Responsibly raised meat and Responsibly caught/raised fish and seafood. Great hot and cold food/salad bars. Love, love, love their bulk food selections. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful and I really feel like I'm part of a real community. (I am a member of the co-op)

Amazing local produce. They have a discounted section for produce that is still good but on its way to being no good. Nice variety of bulk foods and spices. If it had more parking I'd give 5 stars!

Hi Jami, Thanks for your review! We think that, once Willy North opens in August, some people currently shopping at Willy East will instead shop at North, freeing up some parking spaces. That's my theory at least! Have a great week and we hope to see you again soon. --Brendon Smith, Director of Communications

Best grocery store in Madison by far! They have the best and freshest produce selection in town. If you are looking for a quick healthy lunch or one of the best pizza's, fresh and cooked to order, this is your spot! And they have an awesome juice bar! Keep up the great work Willy St Co-op East!

I'm a member of the Co-op, and it's a great place to go for reliable, beautiful produce, which can be harder to find in Madison than it should. The fish counter is run by Seafood Mart, so there's always beautiful fish available, and the stock of organic/all-natural meats is more than adequate. They have a great hot bar and salad bar for healthy lunches, and even offer a lot of to-order options. Cheese selection is tops, including quite a number of exotic foreign varieties, and prices are fair for the quality you're getting access to. Honestly, the only problem is one that plagues everyone at small groceries, everywhere. All the other customers wedged in there make it hard to shop!

I broke my don't go shopping when I am hungry rule. Not only did I not have breakfast beforehand I haven't eaten real food all week. Self serve by the pound hot breakfast bar ( yes I will take curried tofu scramble And turkey sausage gravy) and a cold salad bar ( put peas, pico de gallo, sprouts and fresh veggies on top of my fritatta eggs And a small sample all the different kinds of rice dishes). Yes this cost me 22$ but every bite was a different taste And I had enough left for lunch which I promotely ate 30 minutes later (well still nibbling) With a container of sweet blueberries and locally craft brewed kombucha it is a "breakfast" better than I could make. It amazes me how much goodness they pack into what would be considered a small place. I never saw anyone throw anything into the trash can only into the recycling can

Loved shopping here. The staff were very helpful and went above to help. The cheese selection is unique and vast. I spent a great deal of time smelling the prepared meals. It is a co-op so prices are for mostly organic food with ingediants that can be pronounced.

Excellent service, great selection of more hard-to-find items. The hot bar is often bland, but the baked goods are always on point, in part thanks to the items they get from Batch.

Thanks for your review, John. I'll pass along your hot bar comment so that it's taken in consideration when we review and make improvements to our menu. Have a nice week! --Brendon Smith, Director of Communications
