We broke down at exit 73 and had to ve towed back to the Charlotte, NC area. Carla the operator was very nice and helpful and Larry our driver was very courteous and professional. Fair rate also.

Dear Mr. Huffstetler, This review was pointed out to me by another company and I want to respond to your review. What you have said in this libelous rant is ridiculous. What you are saying is these two young girls diagnosed this overheating problem but when our ASE certified mechanic of over 20 yrs. says its a transmission problem you give everyone in the shop a hard time trying to diagnose this vehicle over the phone. If you were so worried about them why didn't you come and rescue them? Or why did you send them out on the road in a car with all those mechanical problems if you knew so much about the operation of a vehicle? These girls were treated very good by the tow driver. They were taken to a hotel at no charge and then brought back to the shop at no charge. Why in the world would we deny them getting their personal belongings? I sure don't want them and I sure didn't want that car. We gave them more than we got for it at the salvage yard. But then you, Mr. Attorney call companies around town and say you get unscrupulous opinions about R & C.Well, duh, that's our competition. Maybe you will have to prove that and who they are. Opinions are like you, everybody's got one. We actually called the police and have also filed a report on this post. They will be contacting you to explain what you have said. BTW, there was a police officer standing at the shop listening to the calls you made to us. As for AAA, we have been with them for years and our record speaks for itself. I don't worry about your opinion. Here are the facts: 1995 Ford Taurus Station Wagon being driven on the interstate stops completely. The front pump seal is leaking and the transmission is shot. We quoted a new Jasper transmission, we don't deal with used transmissions. The quote included the tow overmileage, you only had 3 tow miles and the diagnostic fee. You did not want this so in order to save you storage fees and other wrecker fees we bought the vehicle for salvage. The owner of the vehicle, Ms. Kail was fine with all this but this man who knows it all fails to mention the owner had bought the car upon high school graduation a few years back and only paid 200-300 for the car. Who are you Mr Huffstetler?

Very professional and polite. Worked with me in every way to get my truck fixed and even though it didn't work out through no fault of their own. They still did anything they could to make my life easier. It was very welcomed with me being 200+ miles from home and not familiar with the area.

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!! R&C REPAIR is UNETHICAL, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND RUDE!!! Long story short, these people own a tow company AND an auto shop, and use their contract with AAA to tow people to their Auto Shop, which is a HUGE CONFLICT OF INTEREST. The young gentleman who picked me up on a AAA roadside assistance call was wonderful, nice, friendly, and took great care of me AND my dog, and took me exactly where I told him to, which was on file with AAA. I found out later that evening that he was fired for NOT taking me to the R&C Auto Shop! When I called to speak with the owner about the situation, the wife told me the young man was no longer there because he went back to school. When I spoke with the husband, he told me "he didn't have to tell me nothin' and it's none of my business!" He was extremely rude and unprofessional. I can only hope that a CROOK like this is taken off the AAA tow list so he does not have the chance to RIP PEOPLE OFF again. BUYER BEWARE!!! R&C REPAIR is UNETHICAL, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND RUDE!!!

I brought my motorcycle here to get it inspected, while the wait was a little longer than the 30 minutes I was told, they didn't pull some crap like dealerships did, finding issues that didn't really exist. I will most definitely come back next year for inspection if I'm still in Virginia then. I will definitely recommend this place to other bikers, thanks for not screwing around and finding non-existent reasons to fail my bike. Now I can enjoy riding my bike entirely legal and not have to worry about a cop ticketing me over a sticker.

If you're reading this and stuck needing a tow service or repair. BEWARE! Do not used these people they are total crooks! I had a daughter of mine and a friend driving back from NC to Ohio and her car broke down from what they thought was over heating. After calling AAA, R and C Towing showed up and towed the car back to their garage. Next morning they were told the transmission had gone bad and it would take 3500 to get it fixed. 1. Not quite sure how a overheated engine blows a tranny. 2. 3500? I can understand a garage can charge what they want for parts, but 3500? I told them to get a rental car and go to the garage and get their stuff out of the car. This is where it gets bad and I got involved. After arriving they were informed they would not be able to leave the premises with their personal possessions until their $95 Diagnose fee was paid. which is against the law! I had to get on the phone and basically tell them I was calling the local police to have them come out and explain. After that they decided to change their mind and also let me talk with the guy in the garage. They mechanic said the transmission was leaking fiuld and was probably why they were thinking it over heated Either way I wasn't there, so stuck with taking their word for it and saw where this was going. So basically they had to abandon the car. Once they found out that I had actually spoken with a savage yard and going to have them pick it up. They made an offer to buy the car for few bucks more. A whole $100. What they didn't know was I had called around to a few companies in the area and they all knew exactly who this company was. Not a very good reputation and boy was I told a few stories. Either way I have placed a call to AAA to explain the situation. So again if your stuck on the side of the road use somebody else. If recommended by AAA ask for an alternate or you might just lose you car! BTW This is a real review and not having some friends place good reviews on here to make a company look good.

Daughter was on the road headed from Lynchburg, VA to Knoxville, TN and her thermostat went out. They replaced it, added oil and anti-freeze and she was back on her trip in under an hour and a half at a cost less than what we would have paid to have it done at home. We are thankful for their quick and professional work! A blessing!
