Kai, I would be careful with this claim that M4/3 is limited to 16MP you have stated this before on the PEN review. It would imply that APSC and FF are also limited to some absolute number. And the 20MP Sony 1” sensor in the RX100 at half the surface area of M4/3 is imposable. But as the RX100 does exist it demonstrates that M4/3 could reach 40MP, patent limitations notwithstanding.

This is most likely the best stills M4/3 camera around, but with that said the price ($1,099 USD) is way too high. If you consider that you can get a full frame Canon EOS-6D for $1,399.00 USD that becomes a pretty bitter pill to swallow, albeit at much bigger size.  And a Panasonic GH4 is $1,497.99 and actually offers 4k. Don’t get me wrong I am honestly considering this camera but I may hold off given the price. I know Olympus is losing money right now just not sure this is the right strategy. One of the claims of M4/3 was that because the sensor is smaller you could get more sensors from one wafer of silicon, and there by a much lower cost for the camera.

I believe the optic for this camera was designed by Zeiss derived from technology from there Distagon line with 11 lens elements in 8 groups, including  one  aspherical element  and Super Spectra lens coatings. Well maybe not....

Well that's all very one sided, the other side is that people need energy. The current plan to get people to stop using energy is to price it out of existence via a cap and trade tax. Basically the way it works is, the power company is charged a tax , it gets passed on to your grandmother for example. Since she is on a fixed income she has to turn of her electric heater (goal accomplished!), put on her coat stand in the corner and shiver.
I guess they named it cap and trade because stand in the corner and shiver didn’t sound as appealing.

Rectilinear lens, that means it's safe to stick the lens up your butt right?

Carrying around an SLR camera today is a bit like doing "Gay For Pay" you only do it if someone is paying. I'm going to try mirror-less, just can't decide which brand. This lens underscores everything that's wrong with SLR for the non-professional market. I mean when you first held that thing up I was worried you would fall over. I thought I had accidentally clicked a link for instructions on pole vaulting.

Judging by the video it's not exactly what you would call aimed at the serious photographer. Surprising they gave it an interchangeable lens. I wish they had given the LX100 an interchangeable lens instead. Given the shrinking market I don't blame them for trying to target a different user base.

I like the shape of Fujifilm camera bodies and I want them to get a hold on the market, but Fujifilm needs to get there video up to snuff because it moires badly right now. I hope 4K is in the pipeline.

I wonder if they can use Twitter over Tor? Maybe Twitter should make a pre-packed app for that.

My prediction is that unless Thunderbolt becomes a factor of at min ~5x faster then USB it will fail. FireWire at 2x faster failed. The cable cost will come down somewhat, but will always be more costly then USB to manufacturer. Intel is dragging it's feet rolling out PC mother boards with Thunderbolt. I would like to see it happen, but I am iffy about it.
