Some pictures I snapped at the GM Heritage Center. Terrible lighting and photography skills, but some really cool cars here!

Sweet photo inside the GM wind tunnel.
Today +Cali Lewis and I were invited to visit the GM Wind Tunnel outside of Detroit, MI. We have a LOT of video from the wind tunnel, including a complete walking tour INSIDE the tunnel, which we'll be putting out soon. For now, here is a little teaser photo exclusively for you guys on Google+.

GM's facility is in use 24/7 and tests all of their vehicles as they go through the development cycle. The tunnel is capable of generating a sustained stream of wind at about 140mph. It does so by using a 4,500 hp motor to drive this turbine with props nearly 45 feet long.

In order to take this photo we had to walk through the long dark caverns of the wind tunnel into the depths of the facility. The chamber housing this monster is so large it would be impossible to light, so the photo was taken using only the available light in the engine chamber.

This is a black and white HDR photo taken on a Canon 1D Mark IV with a 14mm lens, so hopefully my friend +Trey Ratcliff will approve of my handiwork (which of course I learned directly from him).
