Google are always telling SEOs to stop worrying about the numbers and concentrate on creating great content. This has lead to SEOs trying to work out what exactly constitutes 'great content'. Is it the social shares? The visitors? Time spent on page? CTR? Quality indicators in the content itself?

In doing this, creating great content becomes a numbers game. So will SEO always be about the numbers?
