I think you're right to try and tread the line here Michael. It's too easy to play the camelot card - we had it right, THEY spoiled it. I'm trying to get this balance right in my Battle for Open stuff. On the one hand I think it's important to get people to engage with what openness means and also to take ownership for scholarly functions. On the other hand I don't want to be stalinist about it and insist there is only one way of being open. People like Richard Stallman are useful to drive the narrative forward but they don't represent a practical model for the rest of us (in my view anyway).
BTW - it was great to finally meet you.

Hi Liz - I'm so glad you got something from it. I agree - museums and open education are a match made in heaven. I can see MOOCs making more sense for museums, say, than universities, as the aim is clear there, you're not undercutting your existing model. Let me know if you go on to do anything that's H817 inspired, I'd love to hear about it
