Guys, the endless posts of nothing but impossibly hot men that nobody but their clones have a prayer of getting naked with (short of paying by the hour) has gotten well past tedious. Taken together, no small wonder gay men have the rep for being shallow, superficial sexhounds. And no wonder so many gay men have body issues when it seems the only men  y'all demonstrate in your posts count in our world are men they will never be no matter how hard they work or how much money they spend.

I keep waiting to see someone be just a tiny bit brave and throw some love to gay men who were not pretty, buff, hung or otherwise kin to the flesh fetishes that get all the attention. Men who brought to the party all the things we pretend count in our fairy tale of "quality men" we'd like to meet.

Tired of waiting. So I'm stepping up and practicing what I preach. Here's a gay man who deserves to be held up as someone worth knowing. Walt Whitman, who bravely and brilliantly brought eroticism between men into open artistic expression in his poetry. He was brilliant, talented, witty, and a master artisan of his craft.

I'd trade a weekend with a dozen of these popular sausage fest dandies for an hour to have a drink with Walt Whitman.

After 6 months on my new job, I'm glad to say with my improved income I've been able to make some investments in my digital studio. I've upgraded my iMac to a new iMac with 5K Retina display. The 15" Retina MacBook Pro I had to sell last year has now been replaced with a newer model that was a steal on Craigslist.

Most recently, I bought a used Mac Pro from another Craigslister. It's one of the silver tower models that the new Darth R2 machines have replaced. They're turning up for sale at some great prices. I got one with dual quad-core Xeon CPUs, providing 8 total cores that can hyperthread to present 16 with the right software. It came with 12 GB of RAM but I have since maxed it at 32 GB. Next payday, it's getting a much newer graphics card, jumping from 256 MB of video RAM to 3 GB. 3D rendering should start to fly.

This scene is one I actually began last year, created in Poser then rendered in LuxRender. But on my now comatose i7 MacMini, the render dragged on for days with a ton of visual noise and junk left and what would have been a couple more weeks of nonstop render time needed to finish it.

Happily, LuxRender is able to suspend a render and then pick it up later to continue right where it left off. When it took too long, I gave up and shut down the render. As a test of the new workstation, I installed LuxRender and fired up this project. It began refining the image, putting all 8 Xeon cores to use. The render was finished in about 44 hours.

I now have a machine that I can plausibly start animation work on my short film.

This is the first digital rendering I've finished this year and number 167 in my catalog of rendered work. This is a portion of the flight deck belonging to the Solgate Institute at Unity Station. It is the only privately operated flight deck in the station. Looks like graveyard shift with a lone operator loading cargo onto a transport shuttle departing in the morning.

I want to give this another reading or two to wrap my head around the concept more fully but the gist of this as I understand it aligns with something I've been thinking about lately, namely deeper levels of reality with previously unconsidered dynamics and principles at work.

So adulterers are stunned to learn that Ashley Madison took their money while promising to erase the evidence of their schemes only to break their commitment and not do as they promised. What did they expect from a company whose business model was encouraging married people to break their marital commitments and not keep promises made to their spouses? #ashleymadison
