I am very excited to share my latest website design - One Organised Woman. It has been a pleasure working with Melissa to create a fresh, elegant site for her new lifestyle management business.

I love working with other small local businesses and being able to bring their website vision to life.

Since creating Mara Communications, what makes me want to bang my head against a brick wall is the issue of website ownership.

My view of it is very simple - domain and hosting details should be in the client's name and if not in their name, they should ALWAYS have access to them. Preferably, they should be in the client's name!

Why?

- because it is the client's business
- because the relationship with the website developer may change
- because the website developer might change their number and not tell the client
- because they might move overseas
- because they might just say 'no'. I own it, not you.
- because it is the client's business!

Websites aren't cheap. Good ones especially aren't cheap and if a client likes theirs and wants to keep it (and their domain name) it is worth making sure it can't just disappear one day.

Sometimes I meet someone and I start seeing their site in my mind before I have even quoted the job! Kayla Chau was one of those sites - I love all the elements I had to work with. I also have a huge amount of respect for Kayla following her passion. Her site was an absolute pleasure to create!

It took me a little while to find my own look and feel but I absolutely love my new website. When people ask me about my business I can point them proudly to my site. It makes the world of difference!

The Parlor was one of my early sites. The owners, Bonne and Tamare were looking for a clean, fresh look. I loved creating a classy site that showcases what makes The Parlor so special and inviting.
