I had the best service here at the bar by Jaime. We took up 3 of the seats on the limited number of high chairs to watch the remaining of a Lakers Playoff game. Warm and sunny outside, but it's gametime. I just had the most attentive service here. When we were discussing that we ran out of butter, Jaime got it to us within seconds and without question. He also refilled our drinks without asking. Unfortunately, it seems that Jaime is the only gem here. Other waiters and barkeeps did not seem to exhibit Jaime's same enthusiasm, and were watching the clock pass. It's LA, I get it. -=-Chinese Chicken Salad-=- It wasn't the best chinese chicken salad. Nothing special about it. There's a few crispys here, a bit of chicken there, just nothing significant for your 14 bucks. Probably wouldn't get it again. The warm bread that comes out with every meal though was yummy. Smother butter on that and you'll be asking for seconds. The pastrami sandwich that my neighbor was having looked pretty big and filling. Might try that next time. Tip: Marmalade Cafe only validates parking for Farmers Market, not Grove Parking, so make sure you know which side of the street you are parked on.

Good afternoon All, I would like to say that I'm really disappointed with my visit to your place. I guess, when I'm going to a good quality cafe or restaurant, my expectation is a little bit high. I came today morning and order potato. I didn't ask for a lot, just do not put onions in my potato due to the fact that I'm allergic to it. The manager told me that all food prepared prior opening, which is unacceptable for the good quality restaurant, and they cannot do a potato for me without onions. I'm assuming that in a good restaurant all food should be prepared after i order it. Why should anyone eat food which is spoiled or old????? Why you need to tell me that your food is old and not prepared right now? Are you expecting me to come again after that? Even thought you make your food yesterday or at the morning, I didn't understand why it's a big problem in a good restaurant to make a potato right now, since it's restaurant and you have cooks. Anyway, the manager told me that i should eat whatever they have or leave. I'm sorry!!! Did I ask to bring me lobster or something you don't have.? No! I ask for a simple potato without onions due to my health problem. After that I was waiting 30 min for the potato to arrive, which of course had an onions. I should say that they tried to take onions from the prepared potatoes away, but to wait 30 min for the potatoes, which just needed to be hit. This is something even more unacceptable! I'm really disappointed right now. All my experience today was really awful. Sincerely, Maria

A great spot when you're looking for a nicer meal that it's terribly expensive... that's not to say this place is cheap. It's definitely a good spot for a slightly pricier meal. I must say, I am a huge fan of the mac and cheese with bacon -- the noodles were perfectly cooked, the cheese was just the right consistency, and the bacon was super crispy, just the way I like it. Another favorite is the berry mojito -- super sweet and delicious

Great Environment!! Nice Place to spend with my family, my waiter was the best. Glad I took the advice of the owners from Family Ayala's upholstery they sure new what they where talking about.

great soups, salads, pastas and more. Smaller version then some of the others and it gets busy with both the farmers' market and grove foot traffic. Small patio right on the main roadway - cough cough, but the other option is a crowded inside. Regardless the food is usually worth it.
