Attended USF for 4.5 years as a mechanical engineering major. Pretty much all of main course professors were a pleasure to learn from and the resources available to students are limitless. I was able to attain a full time position as a patent engineer making above average salary 2 months after graduation due mainly to the connections I made while at USF and the academic work I completed. Beautiful campus (THE best in Florida) and it is only improving. Would have liked to see the football team perform better over the past 4 years but hey, can't have it all I guess haha. Would recommend USF over ANY college in FL.

USF is a wonderful college while you are a student but once you have graduated they no longer treat you as a student, your status moves to a consumer and they don't go out of their way to satisfy. If anything, they hinder you from getting what you need. They are one of TWO colleges that do not let you print out your unofficial transcripts after you graduate. I had to pay $10.00 for official transcripts even though my employer didn't require official documents. I had an outstanding balance and never received a phone call or a letter before they charged me a $100 late fee and sent me to collections. How are you supposed to get ahead after graduation if they nickle and dime you TO DEATH? Or termination from your job/not getting a job, which would have happened to me if I couldn't shell out the $10 for official documents that probably take 10 cents plus a stamp to generate. After graduation I definitely found out that they are just another money making institution only interested in generating another dollar off our younger generation's underpaid backs.

I just call the registrar office in regard to an un-official transcript, I was told since I already graduated I would not have access to an un official transcript. I explain to the person I spoke to that I am applying for a job and I am currently unemployed and don't have any money and I need the transcript for a job that I am applying for and the application dead line is today the Waukesha said there is nothing she can do. I request to speak to her supervisor she transfer me to Raymond bud who inform me the supervisor Marquisha Wilson said the only way they would wave the fee if its an error on their part. so the supervisor would not even take my call. I feel for as much money student pay in tuition we should get at lease 1 free transcript once we graduate. also I feel the school should be more considerate toward there struggling former student who have no job and no money. all I am trying to do is apply for a job

Loved my undergraduate student career at USF. Beautiful campus with friendly students, staff, and faculty. Lots of organizations, events, and recreational activities to get involved in. I love telling people I graduated from USF.

I just got out of an appointment with the financial aid office. I love my teachers at USF, but how I just was treated was outrageously rude. 1st they couldn't find who I had an appointment with then when I came after I heard my name (across the room mind you) I rush over and Lesli proceeds to complain that I am late, well actually I wasn't. Then when I said don't worry it won't take long and proceeded to close the door she snapped at me to not close the door. We're talking money, so okay. ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS PAY BACK MY STUDENT LOAN. She was rude and sharp. I literally was on time, but was told over the phone to tell them upfront when I got there and that I would be quoting a check. NONE OF THIS WAS CORRECT, which I don't mind if you don't have your stuff together but at least treat me nicely. These are the people whom I PAY???!

The university is great; I can't say enough good about it. The staff and instructors are wonderful, and there are plenty of support/independent organizations. I have never once felt like a disabled student here. Everyone treats me the same, and I'm very grateful. However, around campus is a different story. When I got my first Bachelor degree (different state), I lived in student housing. There were a lot of international students. Everyone was very respectful, and helped each other out. We'd hang out on the balconies, and drink coffee. It was nice, and we'd help each other out with studying, as well. I got a student apartment (where you rent a room, and the living space is shared) last month across from USF. It has been a daily nightmare, and I have yet to be able to use the kitchen. The other apartment complexes tell me it is the same there. Parties through the wee hours, kids who are so used to mommy cleaning up after them, it doesn't even occur to them to clean up their own filth (and then complain to management about the bugs). I've been almost run over in the parking lot a number of times. My roommates have friends living here on and off, and doing their laundry (we pay for overages on electric). I was at a store at the corner, and a student threw trash out of her window (while she was parked), right in front of the store owner, and then drove away. I was shocked. He said, "Yeah, that's what the students are like here." It's just disgraceful and disgusting. There is a complete lack of regard for anyone other than themselves. I'm sure other university areas have the same problem, but I know for a fact that not all universities have this problem. I am disappointed in USF for not taking a more active role in the behavior of students on the community. This relfects poorly on the university, and the locals look down on all students because of it. DO NOT LIVE HERE. I know it's tempting, because of the traffic and bus line, but if you are serious about your education (and peace of mind), live far enough away from USF to avoid a mainly student population in your complex. These kids were NOT taught any manners!
