Are the "blank" queries (as seen even in the image on the post) a bug or data not sent?

An interesting post about the ramification of semantic web in our life. Altough a bit exagerated it pses some interesting ethical questions.

Json-ld sta diventando la sintassi "de-facto" più importante nel web #SemanticWeb   #JSON
Earlier this year, we announced that users would start seeing carousels with news content on the Search results page, powered by structured data markup that publishers implement. Today, we’re launching a new form of publisher carousels, specifically for live blogs. We’ve worked with a group of partners over the last couple months to launch this experience, including The Guardian, Washington Post, The Telegraph and platform provider ScribbleLive.

Starting today, we are making the markup that powers these live blog carousels publicly available. So, if you’re a publisher interested in improving the way that users find your content in Google Search, head over to g.co/LiveBlogMarkup to learn more. And if you’re interested in learning about other ways Google Search can help you drive acquisition and engagement for your app and web properties, visit g.co/DeveloperSearch.

Una ragione in più per usare #schema   #markup  in ottica SEO
"What if a search engine could better identify what products or entities that the pages on a site are about?"

+Bill Slawski explores this question as he examines a Google patent published last year, "Using structured data for search result deduplication."

Google's take here on "entity identifiers" is very interesting, as an entity-based approach to duplication is quite different from a URL-based approach - that is, Google is focused here on providing better results through consolidating references to entities rather than consolidating URLs to a canonical form.  As Bill says:

This does seem to be a transition to a ranking system that better understands the entities found on pages, and can map those entities to pages on a site, and might then care less about links on pages.

#schemaorg   #entities   #duplicatecontent   #duplication   #deduplication
