Our party of 5 visited the castle as part of a half day tour.. The castle interior was very nice and the guide, Brian, was very knowledgeable. The gardens were nice and the food facilities (Avoca) were excellent.

Beautiful grounds and good food, however its extremely pricey. Lunch and a tour for two people is 60-70!

Nice gardens, great photospot, really great food (Avoca). You have to pay for a tour in the castle so I skipped this part. Wouldn't call it a "must visit" if you're not in Dublin for long, but a pleasant afternoon lunch spot.

The castle is not too big and you can only get in if you go with a tour guide. Regardless the latter, the castle is worth a visit, also because of the nice area around it: nice gardens and a small forest.

Lots to do and see including the castle itself and some great gardens. Avoca cafe for eats. The tickets a bit pricey but would still recommend.

Our rental car was broken into in the parking lot. According to the guard on duty, this is a regular occurrence. We lost thousands of dollars worth of items, but the castle did not even have the courtesy of returning our (pleasant) emails requesting a refund of our admission fee.
