"Can't stop watching this....a Mallard coming in for a landing on an icy runway. I can't help wondering, does he enjoy it? is it scary? has he done it before?"

"This female was the last session we had with the Pumas, an incredibly productive full day. We'd been so busy I haven't had a chance to do anything but backup -- no culling, but today, with a layover day in Chile, I'll finally see the shots. Here is one I know will be one of my favorites." ~ Joe McDonald

"The surreal north shore mountains in fantastic snowy condition. I was at it again this morning chasing the light or should I say moon. I took this image a couple of evenings ago with Matt Jackisch. The sun had set and I was left with the cool evening light and some lingering valley clouds." ~ Adam Gibbs

"For the past 15-20 years I have been photographing winter scenes up on Mt. Seymour. Reason I go up to Mt. Seymour is simple, it it close to home and I can be on the summit within a couple of hours from my front door. I can't recall how many times I've hiked up to the first summit to either capture the ultimate winter scene or just walk up for some much needed exercise. For the most part I have been very successful in photographing some of my best work on top of this relative...ly small mountain. The scenery on top of Seymour and the surrounding north shore mountains is stunning. I find winter up on these mountains to be almost surreal in nature, especially after a huge dump of snow. Yesterday afternoon was no exception as Matt Jackisch and I spent a glorious afternoon up on the peak and walked out under an almost full moon, perfect, perfect. I don't often photograph people in their environment but couldn't resist this opportunity as a back country skier made his way up the slope." ~ Adam Gibbs

"I love finding photos that I'd forgotten to process. This is a common eastern bumble bee (Bombus impatiens) doing a little buzz-pollination on what I believe is a lion's paw (Nabalus serpentarius) that I photographed on a nice hike in Great Smoky Mountains National Park a couple of years ago with my friends Todd Amacker and Kevin FitzPatrick. Tomorrow I head to Costa Rica with Roy Toft to co-lead a workshop and possibly look for bees of a more tropical variety." ~ Clay Bolt

"It's puking snow in Vancouver today so I thought I would post this image from last years super heavy frost day. Doesn't happen that often but when we do get heavy frost the surrounding landscape can look fabulous. In the meantime I hope the snow sticks around long enough to make some new images before it all melts." ~ Adam Gibbs
