I agree wholeheartedly with Kevin - a donor feedback loop (double blind) would be tremendously helpful - I have some ideas if you'd be interested to noodle - although it still doesn't address the non profit side of the marketplace.  

The other issue I have is around the shifting of systems - giving across generations and ten to twenty year timelines to actually give change a chance to happen is  something that doesn't sit well with warm glows - how you get philanthropy (or any change investment) to stay the course with systemic plays that require a 10 year commitment to get to results still remains a challenge.

Perhaps donors should consider taking a Systems 101 course before they start giving money - I was chatting to the guys at Imperial College Synbio Lab about the idea of bridging systems science into philanthropy and broader systems change efforts and they were actually pretty interested
