The "CMOS Rolling Shutter effect" is what causes the distortion, it's awesome that the spinning syncs up with the scan rate during the final few seconds… and then well, who doesn't love a giant gnarly pig tongue shot?!
Agreed! Reducing total output by 15% on a dimmer just to make the claim of guaranteed energy saving was pretty lame. Luckily the new C•L Dimmers that work with CFL and LED as well DO NOT have eco-dim mentioned anywhere in the literature, so looks like it's gone now, yay! Whether because they realized how silly an idea it was or because of technical reasons, who knows! But seems it's gone now.
I love writing Unix scripts, automating things I don't want to do over and over. I like to help people by teaching them how/why and doing it in a friendly way. Generally, I try and live by the golden rule.
