I moved to the Temple Terrace area almost a year ago now and always meant to try this place. As an architecturally aesthetic, stand alone building, it always catches my eye on the way to the store. so today I finally went in for their ten dollar lunch buffet and I was impressed, for the most part, all the way up until I paid. Sure, the place was in need of an interior paint job, but it was extremely clean. All The flavors were rich and authentic, but the texture to the naan, although tasty, was lacking (perhaps it had been sitting there too long under a heat lamp?) I also had trouble scooping/ pinching onto my naan because stuff was a little too thin in texture...but don't get me wrong, because like I said, the taste was dead on. I was a little bummed the Indian spiced tea already had cream in it, being lactose-intolerant, I couldn't enjoy a cup with dessert. The staff was friendly and informative, which I appreciated, I was set down facing the television which had on very entertaining Indian pop music videos. But once the time came to pay, the gentleman at the register wouldn't get off the phone, or really acknowledge me other than the fact he held out his hand for my money. I asked how much it was, the only thing he said the entire time was "$10.70." I hand him eleven and wait for change, as he still gabs on the phone, I point to the total and hold my hand out, only to have him point at the tip jar. Needless to say thirty cents is not much money, but, seriously, WTF? Am i a horrible person for considering to not returning because of this man? I guess I'll have to try Cilantro next time and weigh my pros and cons. Now, I know this review is starting to get long, but I thought it important to be specific about my experience and hope it helps in your decision making process.

Last weekend, I went with my friends to this restaurant, usually we go around the city in search of different cuisines. I haven't tried Indian food before because I heard from my friends that Indian food is very spicy. So I thought of taking an adventure to try Indian cuisine. I was amazed by the taste of the food, it was mild, delicious and made according my taste. The people over there were very friendly. Service was awesome. So, I will surely recommend you guys to go there, try it and you will go again.

"I went here with my husband bc he wanted me to be able to try a wide variety of Indian dishes for the first time. I can not eat anything w wheat gluten so we asked our waiter to check w the chef on what was safe for me to eat. They told me everything was safe except the noodles. So I ate a little of everything except the noodles and did not have any reactions. There was a wide assortment of dishes to choose from daal, naan, goat curry, butter chicken, and chicken masala to name a few. Everything was tasty, flavorful, and fresh. We arrived for the dinner buffet and had to wait about 15 min while they cooked and set up which was fine. Dinner came out to about 27 $ for 2 ppl. The restaurant was pretty empty and modestly decorated, but it was clean and service was great. Everyone working there was really nice and smiling. Overall great experience. I also really liked the butter chicken and chicken masala. "

I visited this restaurant recently for a party arranged by my friend. They offered a large variety of items during the lunch buffet covering all cuisines of India. Being a person from Andhra I was amazed by the taste of South Indian dishes, it reminded me of India. In particular I liked the goat curry very much i haven't tasted like that curry here in USA. For a person from Andhra Pradesh I would surely recommend this restaurant as the taste takes us back to our days in India. For people who prefer less spicy food I would suggest them to try butter chicken with rice or nan. The overall experience at the restaurant was excellent. Hope you all enjoy the authentic taste of India at Mayuri.

Was extremely disappointed when last time they ran this Groupon offer I realized mine had expired. When I spoke with them they basically said "to bad". They would not even honor the face value of the Groupon. Please be careful and make sure this does not happen to you. The rules with Groupon have changed but that doesn't mean all restaurants are honoring the policy. Since I didn't have the chance to try their food I rated them poorly. sb
