If you have never eaten at Chutneys in Vancouver, I highly recommend it. I'm not a fan of Indian or buffet type food, but this restaurant is fabulous. The owner grinds his own spices and makes his own cheese curd. The flavors are fabulous and there are many vegetarian dishes to choose from. Everything is fresh and the restaurant is super clean. Love this place.

The butter chicken and garlic nan is excellent! I just walked in and placed an order to go and the hostess brought me a wonderful cup of chai tea to sip on while I waited. Excellent customer service and food...period!!

Overall dining experience was average- par for the course in the restaurant wasteland of Vancouver. Service was hurried and unprofessional. The inexperience of the server was evident and did little to make our visit enjoyable. The food was flat, I ordered lamb vindaloo, and asked for it spicy. The flavor was mild at best and the dish had fewer than 6 bite-size pieces of lamb (poor value for the 14 dollars). Disappointing as vindaloo is supposed to be very spicy. We also had tandoori chicken and although impressive on the presentation, the flavors were dull and lackluster.Average seems to be the high water mark in Vancouver- So if you are into mediocrity; This is the place for you.

Staff was friendly, restaurant is beautiful, but most importantly... food is GREAT!!! I had the Goa Shrimp and wanted to lick my plate clean. Food comes in a bowl, so be sure to order a side of rice if you want more than just the amazing contents of the bowl. The owner came and greeted us at the end of our meal and asked us for any feedback or comments. He said he is a new manager and has been listening to prior customer feedback, and wants to make sure everyone is getting a great meal. Top notch place!

Chutneys has a great tikka masala. The staff is polite and friendly. The nan is excellent. If you want some good Indian, definitely try Chutney's.
