Specializing in upmarket seafood, this contemporary chain also serves steaks & cocktails.- Google
"For dessert you have to have the boston cream pie and key lime pie."
"Meh. Awesome clam chowder."

Everyone said "Oh, your going to Boston? You have to try Legal Seafood." We did, and enjoyed everything. The atmosphere was cozy and the service and food was good. Our waitress Anastasia even used an iPod Touch to put in our orders. I thought was was cool and very effective. I even created my own drink and the bartender named it the Mexican Mafia. I ordered the lobster with crab and shrimp stuffing. It was good, but had way too much stuffing to really enjoy the taste of the lobster. I'd dine there again.

I went there for lunch on May 24 following my son's graduation from law school. I ordered whole belly clams but what came out could best be described as clam strip remnants. I would have gladly settled for Mrs. Gorton. I suspect this chain had not received their fresh fish order for the day but it would have been nice to be told that so I could have ordered something different. As so often happens with places like this, you don't want to detract from the celebration by complaining so you keep your mouth shut.

Good but not the best in seafood, especially when I ordered lobster which should have been "melt in your mouth" but it was a bit chewy. Paired wine was very good for seafood. We found other restaurants in the area which charged less and the food was better or equivalent. Given the many excellent restaurants in downtown Boston, I'm unlikely to choose that one again. Try the Prudential Tower instead for a 5 star experience, or the Boston Marriot.

For a restaurant that has been around for 30+ years, and has expanded hugely over this time, the food remains consistent. The fish is always fresh and well-prepared. My favorite is the fish chowder which is hearty and delicious. This is a great place to show off local seafood to visiting guests.

The amazing variety of choices of great seafood platters can be found here for a satisfying meal. Must be smart choosing the right plate, some are overpriced, but once in a while its great for a chance!

legals is pretty consistent and we like that they inspect all the fish -- quality is important here, and for fish, that is a nice assurance to have. very child friendly -- good, healthy choices for kids, along with coloring book and child cup. very good sides, always great rolls and chowder.

I had a 8:45 PM reservation on Sat.5/11/2013. Seated at back room for a table of 6. 1st thing you notice is how dirty the restaurant is, especially the carpetting. Seated at the table in the back room the lighting was very bright and extremely annoying. I asked for the lights to be dimmed to equal the rest of the restaurant and they were breifly dimmed. After about 10 minutes the lights again were raised to max intensity. I complained and finally our table was moved to the side of the back room overlooking the mall's pedestrian walkway. Not Happy. Food arrived all cold. At approx.$ 40.00 a plate this became a joke. I cannot ever envision another trip to Legal Sea Foods.

Always my favorite dinner. The selections vary per restaurant and are always unique and delicious. I have never had a bad meal here and have made this a birthday tradition for the passed 5 years. It is a little expensive but always worth it.
