You know how you skip caesar at Italian places in favor of more interesting dishes? I'm telling you. DO NOT. This caesar may have changed my life.

Solid Italian-styled 'small plates' resto with flavourful, well-presented dishes at a prime-located chinatown address. Mike Isabella's celebrity chef status and branding does not hurt either! Memorable and tasty dishes include: ... Broccolini $7 [very fresh and good taste combo with feta and red pepper] ... Spanish Mackerel $12 ash roasted beet, eggplant relish, wild sorrels ... Black Fusilli $12 braised octopus and calamari, olives, oregano ... Countryman pizza $18 [more "savoury bread", than pizza really] black truffle, fontina, farmed soft egg ... Zeppole dessert $8 balsamic, honey [the Italian version of beignets!!] Biggest "minus" was v. loud noise level (some people were actually shouting at some points). Reservations are a must, here.

Pros - The food is good Cons - The portions are way too small. WAY too small. Still hungry after dinner, we walked across the street for a slice of pizza, which was delicious. I get that it's tapas, but c'mon. A $15 scallop plate gets you 2 scallops! The $10 chicken breast plate featured a piece of chicken smaller than a McDonald's hashbrown. The 3 of us literally had one bite each. $8 got you a handful of caeser salad. If you care at all about getting value for your money, this is not your place. - It's also way too loud, at least upstairs. I could hardly hear my friend across the table. - Seems pretty full of itself, with the chef's name and picture on full display (I imagine that is the only real selling point right now). - The service was just okay. Our waiter had no trouble describing the pair of scallops in an enormous amount of detail but waited way too long to take our order. I also didn't care for the t-shirt and skinny jeans "uniforms" of the largely hipster staff. T-shirts are fine, but at a restaurant where bottles of wine start at $40, they seem a little out of place.

My boyfriend and I wanted to go out for a nice dinner while on vacation in DC and I couldn't be happier that he chose Graffiato's The drinks were superb, the food was amazing, the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was perfect. Before we left we asked the waiter if they delivered to NY sadly they do not, but I guess that means we'll have to go back to DC for another dinner at Graffiatos!

Great look, good service. Dinner experience was fantastic. The food was amazing. I went there for lunch and the experience was a little disappointing. The flavors were a bit flat and the portions were very small and expensive. I dont think that was typical. The place feels very stylish.

I was here probably over a year ago, so I don't really remember all the nitty gritty details...but I felt compelled to mention at least one thing. If you haven't already, it's time to try the white truffle pizza. It is out of this world tasty - and probably super unhealthy (but it's worth it!).
