From the first day of the Museum of African American History & Culture's opening, where media from all over the world came to get the first capture of this life changing experience. I knew that what had been built was more than an African American Museum of History and Culture. I knew people from all walks off life would come to the realization that it was a Museum of learning America, its history, and its cultures.

According to the CIA's Directors  Diversity In Leadership study by Vernon Jordan:

"Overcoming Barriers To Advancement in Diversity,"

The importance of hiring for diverse talent and officers of different backgrounds for the long-term health of the Agency cannot be overstated.

According to the report, The Agency must accomplish four priorities: 1) invest in community outreach and relationship building; 2) re-emphasize relationships and commitments to draw from colleges, universities, and professional associations with significant populations of underrepresented groups; 3) establish internship and fellowship programs supporting the recruitment of underrepresented groups; and 4) frequently communicate and socialize Recruitment Center activities with the workforce.
