Chris Szypryngel is the Academic Program Manager for the Marketing program offered through The Malcolm Baldrige School of Business at Post University.
He has developed, designed, and currently teaches courses at the undergraduate and graduate level at the University. He is also the former Director of Career Services and Alumni Relations, and alum of Post University (Class of 1986).
As the Director of Career Services, Mr. Szpryngel provided support to students and alumni in the following areas: career counseling, job searches, internships, co-ops, and resume development. He helped develop the Career Self-Awareness curriculum for Post University and currently oversees the program. He writes, “Career Development Theory, specifically Career Constructivism, is not just about helping students find jobs based on skills, interests, and abilities. It is also about helping students find meaning in their work, throughout a lifetime as employees, parents, children, students and individuals.”
Mr. Szpryngel has more than 25 years of experience in the Environmental Services industry as an entrepreneur, consultant, manager, and educator. He has held management and leadership positions for some of the largest companies in the green industry, including TruGreen, F.A. Bartlett, Savatree, and Alpine. He is also a former Military Policeman, serving in the U.S. Army from 1983-1989. Mr. Szpryngel sits on the Board of Directors for the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra and is on the Education Committee, helping create awareness and appreciation for the Arts in the Greater Waterbury region.
Prior to coming to Post University, Mr. Szpryngel worked as a consultant to reformulate operations and restore effectiveness in several organizations. He is experienced in all levels of business consulting from the development of written plans of operation and the facilitation of training programs to policy and departmental reconstruction.
Mr. Szpryngel is currently a doctoral student at Fielding Graduate University, working toward his second master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Human and Organizational Development. He received his Master of Business Administration from the University of New Haven, and his bachelor’s degree from Post University.
