Where do you get inspiration for characters, settings and designs?

as a graphic designer i am a very visual person, so for characters and settings i use images mostly
That place looks really cool! how can i integrate into my game?
This character is awesome, how can i play it in my regular game?

but for it's personality i usually take inspiration from books

as for game design anything goes, i like to focus on certain aspects that are relevant for me, for example currently i am reading The Breaker New Waves Manhwua, that is about the martial arts world in a modern setting, so if want to design a game i avoid to do that-story-game, the game i create is not The Breaker RPG, but rather i would like to focus on the martial arts fights and the politics of the clans that govern that people.

What Mechanics make you feel excited and ready to play?

Tables! i really like the simplicity of using tables, roll die and see what you got, even the same results can lead to different outcomes.

when i met Maid RPG it was a rollercoaster of emotions, first i realize that many of the book is character creation, that was a turn off, but there are just quick and easy tables!

of course there are times when tables are really boring as the meddle in the action, but have tables to quickly improvise something is really cool

What game do you dream about making, but haven't quite got there

That is an easy one, Mecha.

the mecha anime/manga genre is one of my favorite, i love the mix of big action, world building and personal relationships.

i really like to have the ability to mix the tactical (crunchy, gamist, hard rules) with the struggle of the characters (narrative, soft rules) all in a rich world that the players can explore as they go on but with enough details to let the GM build on the fly.

What games have you worked on - Informally, formally, semi-formally

Heredero de Hanzuo - Feudal japan where the lord of the clan has to choose among his sons the next leader.

the characters are random at each time, the players create the land they inhabit as they go, a game with lots of intrigue for a one shot game

Trompeta de Gabriel - Created with educational purposes, this game follow the Professor Gabriel at his time machine allowing the players to replay certain times of history

Momentos Dementes - move, ask, search, investigate, talk, just do anything, because when you stop bad things happens.

a game of suspense and horror, the characters start with a pool of actions when that pool runs out they die

La Cuna de San Víctor - tic tac the clock is running, the players are ghosts traped in the Asylum of San Víctor which has a long story of crime and murder, the ghosts want to leave but La Cuna (the building itself) will not allow it.

Under the Broken Moon - it begun as Under the Broken Moons for the #ThreeforgedChallenge, i just leave a small narration and +Heather Ricks and +Mischa Krilov did a wonderful work with that little text i left.

Shadow of Ares - a game for the #ThreeforgedChallenge and a stain in my conscience up to this day, i should have done a better work, it was going quite well until i put my hands on it

Secret Circle - another #ThreeforgedChallenge game, i like the original idea, it is a pity that the final stage got missed.

Tian Shang - now this one is a secret (shhhhh) here i am not the game designer but the graphic designer, i would dare to say that this is the first time i worked in a professional RPG instead of fan-made ones.

Roswell Rangers - a dropped project, it was supposed to be a comic and a RPG but at the end nothing

Historia de 12 - with this one i win a prize, is a freeform game where the players know the story since beginning, this game is used as a tool to set scenes for roleplay (more emphasis on role instead of roll)

maybe something is missing i hope not.

Who do you like playing games with?

With Aaron, who i meet in my first RPG session and since then has been a long time friend

With Luis, i really like how he is a real life paladin.

With Alejandro, a strange mix of all-brains/no-brainer person.

With Carlos, the only person i have seen able to lose an argument with himself, i want to see him asking for a rise at his work.

With David, not a master nor a narrator, but a storyforger

With Hector, who need to slap himself to play a dumb character

With Samuel, Master of twisted tales and strange stories

With Ricardo, Partner in the crime of murdering campaigns

to all this guys i rise a mug and make a cheer to theirs health, wisdom and rolls
