Why should you be interested in Thanksgiving, a debut novel from veteran reporter Mary R. Arno? Easy. Mary believes you, the book club, are the future of the written word--islands of thought and conversation among the rough seas of social media.

Thanksgiving is a coming of age tale, adapted from a short story, “A Fork in the Road” that won the 2006 Faulkner-Wisdom Gold Medal.  It’s gotten some great early buzz on Amazon, Goodreads and Netgalley.

Arianna Huffington calls it "a beautiful and heartbreaking story of friendship and survival, abuse and retribution, love and justice, told without sentimentality but with a reporter's sharp and spare prose."

Mary is an award-winning author and journalist who has worked at newspapers across the southern United States, from Los Angeles to New Orleans to Orlando, with a couple of others in between. At the Los Angeles Times, she was part of teams awarded Pulitzer Prizes for covering the L.A. riots in 1992 and the Northridge earthquake in 1994.
