Tried to book so many times and now that I'm exasperated wouldn't bother only for the fact that I have paid £664 last year. If I don't get through to someone in the next hour or so I will have to give up and put it down to a bad experience! Summer Bay Resort telephone line is permanently engaged !

We traded in a week of our family RCI to stay here over Spring Break. I have stayed in multiple resorts/RCI facilities and this is by far the worst experience we've had and we're only 4 days into our week. I'm not usually a review writer and am under no delusion that I should compare this place to a fine Disney resort, however: They put us in one of their new buildings that smells so strongly of paint we have to air the place out every time we come back to the room. The door handle fell off when we walked in. We can't park in front of our unit due to construction and there is a bright light shining into our bedroom from the outside patio that can't be turned off or blocked out. The "free wifi" barely works, but of course they sell decent access for an extra $10/day. Our back patio "view" is of a half-full swamp with a sump pump and the pool next to our unit does not provide towels (only available at the main clubhouse). They have multiple other activities available for $36/person, per day - I feel like that is quite high considering what they offer. I was prepared to overlook all of these things and just enjoy the theme parks, until this morning - the one morning we were not going to a theme park and got to sleep in - and the construction crew across the parking lot decides to start an hour early and wakes us all up!! When I called to complain, the manager was not in and they could do nothing about it. At check in, they asked if we could come sit through a time-share sell later that morning, in exchange for resort credits and we had agreed, but I was so upset at this point, I cancelled it. I later got a call from a "manager" who said to make up for all the problems, he would give us a few days of the other activities (normally $36/person/day), if we could just come down to the sales area and listen to their quick speel. Unfortunately, we arrived and he was a marketing manager, and the "quick speel" was going to take an hour and a half. After arguing with the marketing guy for a minute, we just left with nothing but irritation at how they treat their customers (why would you want to spend 90 min trying to sell someone a time share in a resort they have already told you is horrible?). The actual property manager left us a message in the room, but has yet to call me back on the cell phone number I provided. I will update if any response is received.

The worst experience EVER! My family and I came back at night from a full day at Universal to find that our room had been left WIDE OPEN by housekeeping. On top of this, the TV had been turned on and re-positioned and someone had been in our beds. Literally, this was the creepiest experience. This has never happened to us. Also, the housekeeping ladies are really loud early in the mornings. We understood that there are lots of children coming and in and out but by far they were louder.

Clean and comfortable. Free breakfast free fast wifi. Place is very secure. They have two pools that are 24/7. The lady Erica at the concierge was very nice and pleasant to deal with.

Context: stayed here in Dec. 2014, in the condo buildings. Had a two bedroom condo. +Decent amenities (renting bumper boats, rock climbing, small beach, etc.) +The rooms are fairly nice, including 50" TV with hdmi port you could use to play movies from your laptop. -The food at the main pool bar was not good in my experience. Ate a club sandwich that used really low quality sandwich meats and processed cheese. -The resort was manipulative about an upgrade that we could use for our timeshare. After we checked in, we were told that we could upgrade our condo to a house for no increase in fees due to being with the timeshare company for so long, and having a good reputation. Turns out this was total bait for a tour, where they take down a bunch of personal information and try to sell you an upgrade anyways... -Possibly the worst part: the internet is god damn useless. Good signal strength, yet the connection constantly drops out, and their paid "premium" upgrade is to 1.5Mbps (which makes no difference at all compared to the base anyways). If you need to do business (besides email) while here, you'll need to find a McDonald's or somewhere else with free WiFi. Overall, if you don't mind a sales pitch, crappy food, or really bad internet, this place has potential to be a great resort. Otherwise I would recommend staying away.

FALSE ADVERTISING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Scammers! & Time Wasters! Telephone operators have an attitude! They trick into thinking you have won a prize and you need to call a phone number to claim. Operator chats like she is doing you a favour and couldn't care less about your time. I asked what was the elibility and is there a cost? She said I haven't got to that yet!! keeping me on the phone longer than necessary!!!!! I realised that I had NOT won anything because they want $898.00 for a $3000 travel voucher in America! I'm in Australia!!

I just logged on here to add this comment, I don't know what Resort these people who complained were staying at, it certainly was not Summer Bay, we had a one bedroom condo, it was clean and very comfortable, it was very quiet at night and it is a very safe environment, I found the staff I dealt with to be extremely nice and friendly and I and my wife really enjoyed the amenities, especially the pool and surrounding lake and massive acres of the complex. It is close to all the attractions of Central Florida, we actually purchased an interval ownership in the Resort, if I get tired of going to Summer Bay I can go anywhere in the world for that week, I just guess when you deal with tens of thousands of guests, there will always be the few who are not pleased.
