Saw a preview of this today and it's truly impressive. Great work and innovative ideas, with lots of potential for future innovation. It's going to be a fun talk.

An amazingly simple, but profound game.  I was hooked in 2 minutes.

Dubious distinction of having one of my twitter conversations become top story on hacker news this morning. This stuff needs to get said and we need to find a way to make things better,

A fantastic debunking of the moon landing hoax.  Not that I need much convincing.

In most frameworks and languages, a module's exports are only visible to the other modules that directly import it. As a simple example, the following node.js program prints undefined: parent.js require('./sub1'); require('./...

Any devs out there want to spend a year in Costa Rica? My brother needs to create a modern sport betting website and wants to hire a someone who can get the project started. His company is an established sports book company based in Escazu, Costa Rica. He is finding it hard to get talent.  JS experience is good, but really, anyone with skillz could work there.

Indeed. 2.1.5-02 is broken. 2.1.5-03 is the version to use.

I will be releasing groovy-eclipse-compiler 2.8.0-01 today. I'll make an announcement when it's ready.

We tried to upgrade to the Groovy Eclipse Compiler 2.1.5-02 and found it completely broken because it appears of an API change in plexus-compiler? Anyway, luckily I just found there is a 2.1.5-03 and now that seems to compile just fine.

 <plugin>
        <artifactId>maven-compiler-plugin</artifactId>
        <version>2.5.1</version>
        <configuration>
          <compilerId>groovy-eclipse-compiler</compilerId>
          <!-- set verbose to be true if you want lots of uninteresting messages -->
          <!-- <verbose>true</verbose> -->
          <source>1.7</source>
          <target>1.7</target>
        </configuration>
        <dependencies>
          <dependency>
            <groupId>org.codehaus.groovy</groupId>
            <artifactId>groovy-eclipse-compiler</artifactId>
            <version>2.7.0-01</version>
          </dependency>
          <dependency>
            <!-- force a newer version of Groovy -->
            <groupId>org.codehaus.groovy</groupId>
            <artifactId>groovy-eclipse-batch</artifactId>
            <version>2.1.5-03</version>
          </dependency>
        </dependencies>
      </plugin>

A few days ago, I was tracking down a memory leak through Yourkit and I was pointed to this code (vastly oversimplified, but just complex enough to prove my point): This code is part of a compiler and stores some metadata on...

Richard's right in one respect.  SO is the best place to ask the question.  This way it will be available to everyone.  Ask the question there and post a link to it in G+.

My heart goes out to all those poor, poor rich people who will have to pay higher taxes.  Just look at their faces.  Hard times indeed.
