Very small bar with good beer. My friend and I go to this place when we want to stay local. The music is always good and not too loud to the point where you're screaming at your friends. Nice place to sit back and catch up with your friends.

I love this place, it covers all the bases -- great for coffee and brunch in the morning, and perfect for dinner and a beer in the evening.

The guys at night are not friendly. They gave me a vodka tonic almost just tonic, when I gently ask for more vodka one of them said "I can't" and the other one made a new one perfectly done but with the attitude of someone who was insulted.

Great relaxed bar with outdoor tables on the sidewalk and an above average beer selection. Owners Ben and Gina have a great companion bar to their other place, Bodega.

Atmosphere at Heavy Woods is a 10. It’s perfect for a set of afternoon drinks, a few brunch bloodies, or some late night cocktails with a few friends. They have a nice little bar and some tables in there that you can cozy up to and have an intimate conversation. It’s got sweet big windows and is set on a corner so there’s lots of light in the daytime - so you don’t have to feel so guilty sitting in a dark bar nursing a hangover or a breakup or whatever you’re doing drinking in the middle of the day! The service is down to earth cool Bushwick-style, where you can discuss Hall & Oates or David Bowie with the bartender, or be left alone and talk to your friend, either way - it’s got a comfort level that’s hard to match - not overbearing but also engaging just enough where you feel loved. The catfish Po’ Boy, the Burger, the Gumbo, and the Crispy Chicken Biscuit are all pretty good.

Really well made drinks by awesome bartenders, good coffee, comfortable dining space inside as well as out in nicer weather and a really good menu by Schtoup Shop. Heavy Woods is on my Bushwick got to short list.

Exchanging pleasantries with the bartender. Sipping on happy hour well drinks. It's very nice to sit at the bar with wide-open windows overlooking Wyckoff Street. The joint gets crowded later on in the evening — as usual, Thursday through Saturdays get packed, but that's just because it's such a comfortable bar to hang out in.
