IWC has long been one of the most proudly celebrated watchmakers in the world, both for style and horological achievement.  No watch in their collection is a greater testament to the latter than the Portuguese Perpetual Calendar (but don’t worry, it’s got plenty of style too).  First created by IWC at the tail end of the quartz crises of the early 80’s the “Da Vinci” reference was among the first wave of perpetual calendar movements, and the first to be made (relatively) affordable compared to existing models such as Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet.

Now, just one look at the dial lets you know this is a watch with a lot to say.  It effortlessly displays the day, date, month, and year in addition to the moon phase and astonishing 7-day power reserve display.  Even with all those displays, the dial still has room for rose gold Arabic numerals, making it remarkably easy to read.  Flip the watch around and its exhibition caseback shows you just where all that power comes from, and is absolutely mesmerizing to witness in action.  All of this fits inside a beautiful 42mm rose gold case that looks sharp and uncluttered on the wrist. This is not a watch for the casual observer, this is meant to be a crowning achievement in any collection and it has the means and the right look to do it!

Cartier has won the hearts of the watch collecting community by being a classic brand with a classic look.  You won’t find any left-field designs, no ambitious “reimagining” of the timepiece aesthetic, just the classic, elegant Cartier style that keep fans adding to their collections.  While the Tank has been considered “the” dress watch for years an often overlooked model in their impressive repertoire is the Ronde.  A sharp departure from the Tank in several ways, the Ronde provides much needed variety in the dress watch realm, while still being unmistakably Cartier.
The round case is the first thing that catches the attention, and those less familiar with the brand may not believe Cartier would do such a thing.  The size also sets it apart from many dress watches, particularly the Tank.  The men’s XL reaches a whopping 42mm, yet its case remains so thin you’ll be amazed an automatic movement could fit.  It still features the trademark silvered and grained dial that has made the Tank a go-to for formalwear, but the face also features 24-hour Arabic markers tucked inside the Roman dial, providing a practical touch to a dress watch that is rarely seen.
For those looking for a classic dress watch just different enough to keep spectators on their toes (and it will have many) there’s a Cartier Ronde for you.  With both men’s and lady’s sizes, plus the gold option for that extra splash of elegance, those turned off by the size and shape of the tank need not turn their back on Cartier.  For as long as there is Ronde, there’s time for a pleasant surprise.

We all know the Speedy went to the moon, but up there, did it ever wonder what distant, ant-sized people on the planet below saw when gazing up toward the sky in witness of the grand feats it accomplished? Believe it or not, Omega considered that existential question, which is why you can now get yourself a Speedmaster that displays the moon phase, truly bringing its heritage of space exploration full circle. Besides the extra complication, this watch features its trademark black dial, along with an elegant black Omega strap, giving it an extra element of sharpness that makes this watch appropriate for the office, a soiree, and of course, space travel!

At SwissWatchExpo we are always excited to share when a special piece crosses our path, and today we're going to share with you a very special edition of a legendary watch. The Monaco is undoubtedly TAG Heuer's most celebrated piece for a number of reasons. First and foremost the design is one of a kind and beloved by watch collectors the world over. Neither a square nor cushion case yet it somehow combines the best features of both, this iconic design takes the modest 39mm and makes it stand out on your wrist more than any watch of that size has a right to. Beyond the shape, it's permanent association with American film icon Steve McQueen has done wonders towards cementing its legacy as one of the premier and most identifiable watches in the world. Any watch collector would be well served by adding a Monaco to his collection, but this piece is an entirely different level of special.
This limited edition Automobile Club de Monaco version features a sleek and sinister black dial, almost unheard of on the Monaco and very hard to find. It features a date window at 6 with the ACM logo right above, and three orange chronograph hands boldly brighten up the whole face. Adding to the aesthetic is a leather strap with not only an orange interior but orange stitching on the outside. All of this together results in a simple yet beautiful design that only adds to the legacy of one of the worlds most popular timepieces. If you're looking to add a Monaco to your collection without running too close to the heard, you may have just found your match.

Today, we turn our eyes to a proud brand of wristwatch that has been making history for centuries, Breguet.  Specifically we look at this lovely yellow gold Classique, a textbook Breguet that will excite both casual watch fans and die hard aficionados.   This watch has everything you would expect from a Breguet timepiece, coin edge case, guilloche dial, and mind bending complications that made this one of the world’s most legendary watchmakers.  The Classique is one of the brilliant examples of design that is simultaneously traditional, iconic, and absolutely one-of-a-kind.  The trademark Guilloche dial is both intricate and luxurious and the coin edge case, another Breguet trademark, gives it an unmistakable classic appearance.  However this watch isn’t all style (although it has more than enough to go around), Breguet has been thrilling watch collectors and jewelers for centuries with their mesmerizing complications, and this watch is no different.  Featuring a power reserve indicator at 12:00, the dial masterfully expresses its functionality without sacrificing the necessary clean features of a dress watch. The Retrograde Seconds hands at 6:00 offers a perfect foil to the power reserve, and is a testament to the virtuosity of one of the world’s premier watchmakers.

The Rolex President.  That solitary name single handedly conjures a sense of greatness, and if Rolex’s reputation could be summarized in a single watch, it would no doubt be the Day-Date.  So when considering its proud heritage and media appearances beyond measure, it came as a particular surprise in 2015 that Rolex was rolling out a new model, the Day-Date 40, and boy did they not disappoint.  Beefed up to a substantial 40mm, it’s not just the size they upgraded.  This watch takes all the tradition and luxury of the original Day-Date and adds a modern energy to it, particularly in the form of the diagonal motif dial, adding contemporary design to a very classic watch.  Of course Rolex didn’t call it a day there, the double quick function makes for easy setting and the 3255 movement is Swiss Chronometer certified and has an astonishing 70 hour (!) power reserve.  2016 is an election year with no incumbent, you know what that means, it’s time for a new President!  So why don’t you get yours?

Over the years Omega has become one of the most recognizable and popular watch brands in the world.  Nowhere is that popularity more apparent than in the Japanese market, and we’re proud to offer a limited edition timepiece celebrating that.  This special edition Speedmaster honors the comic book Galaxy Express 999, a wildly popular manga in Japan that has spawned numerous translations and cartoon adaptations over the years.  The only year of production, 1999, also serves as a nod to the title, as well as the number of pieces produced.  This means die hard Prince fans also have something to enjoy about this watch.
The dial is simple, and classic Moon Watch.  Black dial, tachymeter bezel, and three trademark chronographs, everything that makes the Speedy such an iconic timepiece.  The case back is where this model really shows off its uniqueness.  Gorgeous engravings capture “999” in block letters, the protagonist’s face, as well as the signature of creator Leiji Matsumoto.  Those in the market for a rare timepiece should definitely consider this watch for their collection.  With only 1999 pieces in production, and none of them meant for the American market, you can rest assured no matter how many Speedmasters are out there, your friends will not get their hands on one of these!

In 1964, Bob Dylan famously remarked that the times they are a-changin’, a statement made less visionary when you consider 20 years earlier Rolex invented a watch with a self-changing date.  However, one can certainly use the Datejust as a frame to view changing trends in timepiece fashion through the years.  That’s because since its inception in 1945, the Datejust has been a staple of the luxury watch market, and the first piece many turn to when introducing themselves to the brand.
In 1945, a 36mm watch was considered a large masculine piece, and continued to for decades afterwards.  Today, we’re witnessing a shift in this trend as both men and women are looking for bigger, bolder, and more noticeable watches.  That is where this lovely piece comes into play.  Featuring a gorgeous pink floral design and a bezel loaded with Rolex factory diamonds (52 to be exact!) it’s impossible to imagine Rolex including these features on a 36mm Datejust 10 years ago.  But if you’re a lady looking for a big, eye catching watch without wearing something that looks like it belongs on a tank, you are in luck. These are the changing times we live in, and YOU could be the beneficiary!  What a time to be alive!

The dive watch game is a crowded market.  To separate yourself from the pack, you need a unique style and abundant quality, apt descriptions for the Panerai Luminor.  Now I could talk all day about what makes the Luminor such a distinctive timepiece, but I really don’t have to.  From the very first glance you can tell this is a watch like no other, and Panerai has cornered the market on the jumbo, cushion-shaped dive watch for decades.  That individual spirit, along with its diving capacity, is enough to make Panerai one of the most collectable watches on the market today, but this watch is still not done impressing!  The 18K gold case and carbon fiber dial puts this watch in a league of its own, even among the always original Luminors.   Sporty, elegant, and attention-grabbing, all rolled into a on-of-a-kind watch, its what gets us out of bed in the morning at SwissWatchExpo and it will generate a sense of style you never even knew you had!

Breitling has made its reputation as a premier pilot’s watch for generations now, and watch enthusiasts have been ever grateful for that legacy.  You can’t however, forget Breitling’s unique contributions to dive watches over the years, and in case you did here is a new one to jog your memory.  The first thought that strikes you when looking at this SuperOcean is, “That’s a lot of white”, and it is.  Although this ultra-sporty dive watch is anything but formal, such absolute white gives it a remarkably clean appearance, and proves itself far more adaptable than at first glance.  The addition of a GMT hand also makes this piece much more versatile than your run of the mill diver, and not only does the bezel display 24 hours, but so does the perimeter of the dial.  This way, the GMT hand can be read simultaneously while the diving bezel is in use.  The rich red of the additional hand offers just the right amount of contrast to tie the entire dial together, making this a watch truly more than the sum of its parts.

This watch is not ideal for everyday wear, heck it’s probably not everyone’s cup of tea in the first place.  But if you’re looking for a watch to add to your collection that will stand out in more ways than one, well brother you may have just found it.

Zenith has been a go-to brand for timekeeping purists for generations now.  While not exactly considered a “mainstream” brand of watchmaker, those dedicated to the craft, or their collections, hold the utmost respect to Zenith for their classic designs and dedication to innovative in-house movements.  Perhaps the proudest achievement of the latter is the El Primero movement, the very first Swiss-made automatic chronograph that changed the game of the luxury watch world from its very inception.  Now Zenith has shown off that innovation for the ladies’ watch market with this Star El Primero Open Chronograph.

If the movement is the figurative “heartbeat” of a watch, Zenith has taken that notion to an extremely literal place.  An open, heart-shaped chronograph at 9 and 10 shows off this groundbreaking movement, and the rest of the watch is a sight to behold as well.    The Arabic numerals on the dial take on very large and unorthodox shapes that would make Salvador Dali quite proud.  The dial also features a power reserve at 6 and who can leave out the cute heart-shaped second hand (I can’t).  Combine all these elements and it’s hard to image the dial can look so clean and uncluttered, and yet it does.  This is not simply a ladies watch meant for showing off your watches complications; this is a serious statement, serious style, and a seriously contemporary watch.

Fantastic Experience! Until now I never spent more than $600-700 on a sight-unseen/online purchase (typically electronics), so you can imagine my reluctance to spend $15,000. I researched the value of the watch (Rolex) and determined it was a very good value. More importantly, I also extensively researched the vendor (SWE) and felt even more comfortable knowing they have an actual store in Atlanta. As well, their web-site has excellent and extensive clear, sharp photos and info of the actual watch... far superior to any of their competitors that I shopped. After a few conversations with Victoria & Blake, I had no further hesitation and "closed the deal" online. In less than 24 hours, I received the watch by FedEx. My wife is ecstatic with what looks like a brand new watch, and I am delighted with the cost and service. No catches or surprises other than a VERY smooth process. I will also point out that I have not received any request nor any compensation or discount for this review. I am just a happy customer and want to share my delight!

I recently purchased an Omega Aqua Terra NZL-32 Regatta watch from Gerry at Swiss Watch Expo. He showed remarkable patience while allowing me to learn a great deal at the expense of his time and expertise. I couldn't be happier with everything involved with my purchase experience.

First, let me tell you how pleasant it is to deal with professionals, and I don’t use that word lightly. As a physician, I really ASSUME honesty when I deal with people, and it’s so often betrayed. With this kind of a purchase . . . I ‘m buying the business’s integrity and reputation almost as much as the watch, itself. In this purchase over the past week, I’ve been treated by you and your entire staff with an amazing dedication to customer service.. Can't believe how beautiful my new Pepsi-bezel GMT Master II turned out to be, when I opened the box and found this "pre-owned" watch looking like it came from Rolex!! NOT over-polished, and still with crisp edges, but ... just terrific! Gerry was VERY professional, and ultimately, my choice came down to which company I wanted to trust with $6000, wired to someone I've never met. My heart was happy to receive my watch in 2 days. I also enjoyed hearing the confident expertise from Michael, explaining the subtle differences between this watch, and a similar one on another site. - - NO badmouthing of the other vendor. I'd definitely buy from them again, ... and am already looking on their site for something for my lady! Thanks, Michael and Gerry!

The woman is a complete b1tch/witch, i walked in looking to trade up my vintage Rolex date, I was in my work out clothes and was judged on my appearance and told my watch was fake (its definitely not and i now own a Yachtmaster). She also told me they no longer buy or trade watches which is BS as this is their business model. I was then told by the police officer he would arrest me for trespassing as i left. OBVIOUSLY didn't see me get into my white Porsche and drive off. Horrible experience! TIIP: DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER!

I brought my vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual in to have the crystal replaced, a general tune up, and to have a new band put on. I was very pleased with the service and price, and won't hesitate to return. They also had a great selection of pre owned time pieces as well!
