As the weather gets colder and the ground freezes over, we all start to feel a little unsteady in our footing. But for people living with dementia, the fear of falling can be more than an occasional thought in the wintertime. #PreventFalls2018

Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be celebrated. She’s seen her share of losses, and her body doesn’t move the way it used to, but she still finds a way to dance, because it brings her joy.

While most people would agree that having an up-to-date will is a good thing, it is surprising how many of us never get around to doing this. While it requires some work, likely some costs, and it means facing one’s own mortality, the benefits for the family that you leave behind cannot be emphasized enough.

Wonderful idea for the chickens AND the ladies! Canadian winters are cold too, I wonder if any of the Hamlets Ladies will start up a knitting club?

This elderly lady loves bike rides. Luckily she can still enjoy nature with one of the volunteers who offer the elderly company and rides. Absolutely wonderful how they both enjoy this experience. http://ow.ly/cSyb50jHRzc

As the Remembrance Day long weekend comes to an end, we would like to take this moment to once again give thanks to our Hamlets Veterans.
Thank you for all that you have sacrificed, so that we have the freedoms we have today.

We all remember in different ways. Yes, ceremonies are important. But our gratitude has to be more than visits to the troops, and once-a-year Memorial Day ceremonies. We can honor the dead best by treating the living (each other) well.
We spend day after day with each other, caring for all of the amazing people we have got to know. Let’s learn from history and apply it daily to what we do.

The fruit of love is service, which is compassion in action – Mother Teresa

A reminder for Remembrance Day is the message that lies at the core of our faith; death is not the end.

Lest we forget
