I like anything zine related and all 3 stores carry DIY underground zines. But overall it's the only show in town for music with a world wide audience. Thanks for the years of awesome beats and happy anniversary Berkeley!

Still open and going strong, one of the original record stores stands true at this location selling old school vinyls, slightly newer-school things like cassettes, CDs and posters and the like. Amoeba Music is like a trip down memory lane - if your trip included Kiss, The Police, Salt N Peppa and Def Leopard as a background soundtrack blasting from your shoulder boombox.

The one that started it all is a shadow of its former self. The records are picked clean of any decent finds. Great for new releases and $1 joke records. For some reason they still have like a million CDs if that's your thing.

Went there today. Liked the CD playing. Asked for it. "Zola Jesus, dude. In Rock under Z. I went back, found nothing. Asked for help. Took me back. 2 guys found a CD. I asked if it was the same one playing. "Ya, dude." Went up front, asked again if it was the same one playing. Examined CD. "Ya." Bought CD. Took home. Played. Not the same CD. Duh, Dudes! I'm ok with ink, ok with 420 on the job. But if you don't know, admit it, Dude! Please don't waste my time. Bye bye Amoeba Music.
