If you're nitpicky and entitled, go somewhere else and spend 3 times as much. If you're looking to have a great time with your family and not break the bank, this is the place! The staff was very friendly. Rooms were exactly as advertised, nice and clean. Perfect place for younger kids. Drinks were very reasonable, as was the breakfast buffet. If you're looking for the Ritz Carlton, go to the Ritz Carlton. If you're looking for a good time with your family, Maui Sands is the way to go. Leave your bad attitude at home, and see how much more fun you have!

THIS PLACE BLOWS!!!! The room was nasty, there wasn't any toilet paper, or hand soap! We ended up leaving the same night we got there, because nobody could sleep due to people running up and down the hallway, slamming doors every 2 seconds, somebody was singing as loud as they could right outside of our room. To top it off the people next to us were smoking in their room, and it smelled terrible. The people who work there are rude and snobby. I called and complained the next day and wanted at least half of my money back and she refunded me 42.00 and acted like I was the stupid one. If I could I would take that 42.00 and shove it up her ass! I will never go back and I would never recommend anyone stay there, unless you have no children, want to party, and get no sleep!

This place was very disappointing. It has four slides total and when we got there only two were open and one of the kid's areas was closed. They said they didn't have enough lifeguards to have them all open. We had to wait about 20 minutes just to get a tube to ride the lazy river. We ended up getting a one-person tube for the four of us. Little kids kept trying to cut in line and after about 5 kids did this the lifeguard finally said something to them. After we went around the river once, we were getting out and the lifeguard actually splashed my husband; he couldn't believe an employee would do something like that. My kids were so upset they just wanted to go back to the room. We checked out after being there about 2 hours. Felt bad for the front desk woman; there were as many people in line to complain as there were to check in. Spend a little extra money and go to the Great Wolf Lodge 5 minutes down the road. It is worth every penny.

Worst water park I've ever been to First the Rooms were disgustingly dirty we had to wait hours because they weren't clean at check in time I'm pretty sure the only thing they do is change the sheets,My grandma found BED BUGS in her room today at check out our whole family had 5 Rooms but since no ones room were clean in enough time but hers on Tuesday when we got there everyone had all their things in her room while we swam in the park (Hopefully nothing got in our belongings) We also had six kids with us and All of them have Bad itchy Rashes over there whole body,the workers are the most unprofessional people they Never Once apologized for Anything but instead called the police on us after taking all the adults in a conference room because the whole lobby was filled with people they didn't want any one to hear they have bugs. When the police came the manager Stephanie stood behind us Laughing the whole time while we were getting the police reports done. I highly recommend for everyone to NOT go to this place don't waist your money its ridiculous there.

We are not entitled or whatever a previous reviewer had states --- but we do like to be treated with respect from hotel staff. From the moment we said "We'd like to speak with a manager" we were treated with rolled eyes and annoying sighs. We had issues from the moment we got there. The waterpark was mostly empty so that was nice as the boys were able to go on the slides over and over without waiting in long lines. It does not have much for those 4 and under. It states that the little tykes can play in their special area....um yeah there is nothing there. Other waterparks have much more for the little kids. We had the Ohana Suite with the bunkbeds. The beds make the kids feel like they are going to fall at any moment. The mattresses do not fit correctly so our toddler got stuck between the mattress and wall. We had to have him sleep in the king bed with us the second night. The way the room is designed even with the A/C running at the highest/coldest setting there is a clear temperature change the moment you cross the threshold into the bunk room. It's so hot it hurts! The cleaning staff is SUPER nice but the front desk is very, very rude. Their social media marketing staff is even ruder. We had young men in the room next to us the first night that had their tv on so loud we could hear it word for word. They also kept going and knocking on each other's doors. We tried calling the front desk and I let the phone ring for 15 minutes and NO ONE answered. I sent messages to their Facebook account that they SAW but did not respond to until I was standing there at the front desk talking with management. They have since blocked me from their Facebook page and from sending messages. I would NOT recommend going here. Spend a little bit more and go to Kalahari or even Great Wolf that is just down the road. Heck... go to Cedar Point!!! Overall I can not stress how rude the management and front desk staff have been. IF you look at their social media thinking "ohhh lots of 5 star ratings" --- it's because they DELETE any complaints!!

This was our second time staying at Maui Sands Resort, the first time the queen rooms were not as nice as other hotels, the water park was clean considering the number of people. This time I used the Groupon for the king room it was much nicer, being a holiday weekend the resort was busy. The breakfast is no longer free however we didn't mind paying since the quality was nice and the service by Al was wonderful. As far as lifeguards go, they shouldn't be wearing glasses indoors. Some of the lifeguards were very kid friendly others not so much. Our kids enjoyed the Waterpark, we would consider staying again if the value remains the same.

STAY AWAY, PLEASE.....they double booked us in two different rooms where people were already in the rooms, we walked in on a family. They told us there no way there someone in the room 3 times and argued with us before walking the mile to the room to check. Then the hotel was booked....know idea how this place sells out.....and our rooms where on the complete opposite side of this unorganized, understaffed, and horror of a hotel. Please they don't care it took an hour and a half to get to our room. The room had broken glass in the floor, broke air/heater and the bunk beds where being held up by bumbling against the wall. The other had no hot water and was just run down. When we got pizza the guy making it, can't believe I ate here, didn't even start our pizza until I asked 20 mins later with a ticket I front of him while he's standing there doing nothing. Than I watched him pull frozen pre made formed pizza crust slop some sauce and cheese then give our pie away to the guy behind me....wtf. when we asked to be comped they blamed this on a pc error and said u have to talk to the morning manager because there isn't a manager on duty tonight. I imagine that we will be standing in a long line for this too. PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE....KALAHARI....OR DO SOMETHING ELSE NOT A GOOD PLACE AT ALL. So to break it down stupid long check in process, called liars at desk, rude and understaffed, and run down dirty hotel, oh yeah water park small, rusty and run down. IF I COULD GIVE -5 STAR I WOULD.

Pretty lame hotel. Check-in was an hour plus task. Not enough parking for hotel guests. Not one of the ice machines worked on four floors, had to go to another wing of the hotel to get ice. (they were aware none of the machines worked) This hotel is grossly under staffed. Much of the water park was closed because they had a limited number of lifeguards. There was one bartender for a sold out hotel, she was really rude, didn't seem to care about service, but who could blame her... Room setup was nice, and the room was nice. No soap or shampoo in the dispensers. One small travel size soap and shampoo, one wash cloth and 4 towels for a room setup to sleep 6 people. AC only worked for about 5 minutes, had to turn it off and back on to get 5 more minutes of air. Water park was ok, better for little kids. Pretty run down, rust everywhere, the water was chlorinated, but still seemed to lack filtration, water dripping from pipes and the water slide structure was rusting really bad. I also never noticed any clean up, mopping, etc once they closed of opened the park. Once the last guest was out of the park, they lights shut off. Yuck! Not impressed, terrible management, could be great, but this place is a big failure!
