It was great to find a bike shop like this. Friendly fast and helpful. Our grandson was down from VT to visit and loves to ride his bike over any and all obstacles. We went to go for a ride on Sunday and put air in the tire. When we got to the trail the tube and tire had blown out due to a cut in the side wall of the tire. We had never found this shop before. We found street parking and walked in with the bike Immediately it was taken and worked on to get it fixed at a fair price. The owner was working on Sunday every one was friendly and our grandson was able to finish his visit riding the bike with a new tire and tube. Most importantly we did not dump the problem on our daughter to have to run around and deal with it at home. She is just going all the time as it is. For those not familiar with the place there is a parking garage around the corner if you do not find street parking out front. We have gone to another bike shop on the shoreline and found they do not have the same open friendly attitude toward any type of bike owner. We will be going here first and every time.

Devil's gear is more than a bike shop. It's the center of New haven bike culture. A place that is essential to transforming the way we live and get around.

Unfortunately I was misled regarding the terms of warranty and repair (this only applies to some parts apparently), and the assistant didn't really seem to care a part I bought less than two weeks ago was not performing well. Good customer service seemed a bit lacking, and better information on purchase would have helped.

Best shop in the city. They do full servicing and measuring if your starting off. They are the nicest and best trained bike professionals you will find around.

I had not been on a bike for 25 years when I picked one up at a garage sale. They helped me though fixing it up a bit at a time (they helped me prioritize so I didn't spend too much at once), gave me advice about how to start up again, and understood my limitations. They know their stuff but were not bike snobs. I felt like a valued customer even though I had never been there before. Very nice.

Great service! I've never been to their store but two thumbs up for their email and phone communication. A special shout-out to Greg for his patience. Btw, I was supposed to get my bike next week after Tuesday..I got it today (Saturday)!! Because of the reasonable prices, excellent service, and low shipping cost ($55 to Washington DC) now my husband is thinking to get a bike from this place as well. Too bad we won't be able to use the one year free maintenance :)

We bought a used bike late in the summer from Devil's Gear that didn't work out very well for us. We returned the following spring and were disappointed with an initial attempt to trade it in for something that was a better fit for our bike rides. We were able to talk with the store manager following that second visit, and he made us a great offer that showed how much the store stands behind the bikes they sell and that they want people to enjoy cycling. I was also briefly in touch with the owner who just wanted to make sure we got everything straightened out. Great job Devil's Gear!
