According to Mayo Clinic, nearly 70% of all Americans are on at least one pharmaceutical drug, with two of the top three categories being pain relievers and anti-depressants.

According to the National Institutes of Health, as of 2013, there have been nearly 207 million existing prescriptions of opioids in the U.S.
According to the CDC, based on 2012 numbers, 67.2% of the physician office visits involved drug therapy which resulted in a total of 2.3 billion drugs being ordered or provided.

Suffice to say, America has a drug problem. However, we are trying to change that with a naturally occurring molecule, Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA or Palmidrol) that is just beginning to take hold as a supplement in the U.S.
The pharmaceutical industry keeps itself busy with this problem; the choice of painkillers is enormous. The most well-known and used painkiller is paracetamol. It can be bought at any drug store or supermarket. But what dangers can be associated with the long-term use of painkillers?
