Rather than feed us oversized portions of meat they served small plates of immaculate food mostly using fresh produce and using meat just to provide flavor. Really well made. We tried the Uni (sea urchin) Hand Roll, Butter Sautéed Potatoes with cured Tuna heart, Celery with red chilli saute and the amazingly well made Asparagus with crab meat and miso. The menu keeps changing I guess based on the season and availability of ingredients. Just like the menu and the portion sizes, the wine list is not huge but they had just the right stuff. Don't go here expecting one dish to fill your stomach. We ordered 4 dishes for 2 people but 5-6 might also be required based on what you are ordering.

This was one of the best restaurants I've eaten at in San Francisco. I went out to a few places while I was there on vacation but this one was by far the best. The food was delicious, refined, the perfect size. If I had to recommend anywhere to go where it was in the Mission or not, I'd suggest you take a trip to Local's Corner. Chef Tim was great too. Wonderful beard haha

While the food here is pretty decent, they advertise breakfast and lunch served from 8am-2pm. Come to find out (and it is not disclosed prior to seating) breakfast is limited to 8am-11am and they refuse to acknowledge their mistake on advertising the hours. However with this said they may be able to provide a bit of flexibility with your order and the servers are super nice even to the most bitchiest people like me. Unfortunately due to false advertising of hours I won't eat here and will advise others to skip it. It also doesn't fit in with the neighborhood cuisine and is a bit too hoyte toyte for this side of Valencia.

Funny that this place is called Local's Corner, as it's a new restaurant that is part of the gentrification of the Mission and thus directly involved in displacing long-term residents (ie, locals). Still, that's true of most SF restaurants (though at least their names are a bit less obvious in highlighting this issue), so what about the food? My partner ordered some eggs, and they were so runny she couldn't eat them -- even though she asked that they be well cooked. When she asked the waiter if they could be cooked more, the waiter refused and gave a bunch of attitude about how that was how they should be cooked. If you're vegetarian, the menu is likely to be pretty unappealing.

A prefix breakfast/brunch menu makes you feel fancy, but the portions are itty bitty (my dining companion ran home for a granola bar immediately after) and the food itself is just aite.

This place is best in a small group so that you can order a lot of the menu and have a bite of everything! That, or a killer date with a good appetite. The fish dishes are perfect and come in two pieces - ideal for sharing with no awkwardness. And though there's no dessert menu, they give you a bit of seasonal fruity heaven in a square at the end of the meal.
