Magic weather at Elgol today and barely a soul there... apart from the kids playing at the school, the Maid of Coruisk taking a lucky couple to their wedding in the Cuillins with Portraits Skye taking the pictures. Oh, and some fishermen, and a couple of friends hanging out by the pier!

We had our annual, seasonal bonfire this evening. Lots of stuff to burn this year (including our old shed!) Anyone for marshmallows? #bonfire #autumn #isleofskye

Seems a long time ago already, but look what we found when we were on holiday - an amazing musical instrument. Bit difficult to describe how it works, but suffice to say it kept us amused for ages. #illumaphonium #kircudbright #scotland

There's been some talk about this morning's sunrise being quite nice. We agree.

A good week to post a picture of one of Scotland's most spectacular sea creatures: the fireworks anemone. There are a good few of them down in the muddy depths of our local sea lochs. We spotted this one today - about the size of a dinner plate, with a very pretty pom-pom in the middle (other colours are available).

Can you tell we're on holiday? We gave our youngest lad the camera and he managed to get a picture of 1: both of us, & 2: looking pretty jolly.

Now is a great time to experience the Celtic Rainforest - the secret, dripping, woodlands that hug the west coast of Scotland (and other parts of Britain with generous helpings of rain). What better place to be on a wet autumn day?

After the deluge we've had more mellow weather in the last couple of days. Sadly, tomorrow's forecast doesn't look quite so kind! #scottishweather #isleofskye

We've seen a good few queen scallops on our dives in the lochs recently. They're pretty comical when spooked - usually snapping about in the water like false teeth. Sometime they're hard to spot because of all the stuff growing on them. It's likely this protects them from predators like starfish, whilst the passengers on the shell get to escape harm by hitching a ride on a lively scallop!
