A weekend of cooler temps has got everybody looking forward to the changing season of losing our hot, humid summer and welcoming the kiss of cooler nights and eventually cooler days. Had fun at Saturday's auction and won some lovely items. Brought them into my spaces today but so many of the ...

Have been feeling like one of the Walking Dead this last week. Came down with that nasty stomach bug that has been making the rounds and it really kicks you in the gut. I've been camping out in there for days and hopefully, I have turned the corner on this. Drinking lots of fluids and embracing ...

Greetings, dear readers. It has been a busy, busy, did I say, busy last few weeks. Forget that my job has been blowing up all over the place (end of fiscal year stuff...sadly this is normal) got rear ended in a local shopping center and now have a bashed in bumper, needed new tires and my ...

I actually went in to pick up a lovely piece of coral from another favorite dealer, Gray Glory, and on my way to her space, this beauty called to me. She has a marvelous sound and I adore the faux celluloid marble overlay. Has a few issues, but then who doesn't, these days.

It's been one of those weekends where the treasure that I found was eclectic and all over the place. From auction wins, visits to local Goodwills and of course Vintage Village, and I was a treasure finding fool. Gorgeous round hand crocheted in the popular Pineapple pattern of the 1950s, ...

Ahh, spring is here and summertime is not too far away. Other than the thick yellow pollen that is in the air, on all outdoor furniture, the vehicles, the streets and the family pets, it is great to have warm weather again. Saturday was a great day for an auction so I hightailed it to the ...

sing it to me sweetly, Bono. Still haven't found that cupboard that I am looking for. Made a cupboard hunting pilgrimage to Monroe, GA where there are many "HUGE" antique malls. Thought I would find it there, but no such luck. I have to stop looking for one and let it find me instead.

Yes, I'm still on the hunt for a primitive cupboard and the old axiom still stands...when you are looking for something, it hides itself away. Still, I can't really complain because I have been visiting new and old shops these past two weeks in search of that illusive cupboard but have found ...

Why is it that when you are on the hunt for something, you rarely can find it--and yet, when you are not looking for anything in particular, the most interesting items appear? I am on the hunt for a cupboard hutch to display my antique American baskets and store items in the cupboard.

Wasn't planning on bidding on yet another chair (I have a weak spot for them) but this gorgeous, walnut carved, tufted rocker was a steal. Why is it on the roof of my pilot? Well, I had an amazing step back cupboard in side and the rocker just wouldn't fit. An auction win, heavy milk glass from ...

Throw back thursday.
Laurie said... What a lovely thought and photo. When we lived in Utah I was our lavender grew really well. Not so much down here in Mississippi. Lavender always reminds me of my Mom. She used to keep sachets in her clothing drawers. I have a few of her hankies that still carry the scent.

Took a little, much needed, PTO and flew to Deerfield Beach/Boca to see my baby sista. We always have a high ole time and my visit coincided with her 55th birthday. We used to live a few doors down from each other, but she has since moved to South Florida and I miss her daily.

My favorite auction house in the Atlanta area. Friendly and honest folks who treat you like family. Always come home with great pieces from this auction house.

Highest customer service is provided by this small team. Lovely old home is peaceful and calming and the staff truly embrace the serenity and peacefulness that massage therapy provides. Best pricing in the Atlanta metro area for massage and all its components. Look for recurring deals on their website.

We have been coming to this location since it first opened. Most often, the food and service is spectacular and this has become a restaurant that we frequented often and always brought friends too. However, when they are off it is always very bad. Had one of the worst meals ever, couldn't finish it, and as is typical of this restaurant, they do not care about your ensuring an enjoyable dining experience. A lot of sorry, wish it was better, but no offer to take it off the bill or even a half the amount. Why, restaurants of this type are so quick to nickle and dime you for everything but when the meal is bad they look at you as though you caused the problem and make no effort to make it right. It will be a long time before I come back to Taqueria Lawrenceville and when people ask me about the food, I will share this recent meal experience. I'm kind of over Taqueria Lawrenceville because we are having more bad meals than good. Too bad, this was such a great place.

A real local salon with friendly and talented stylists and spa staff. I came to their salon for a massage a facial and was sold on this warm and friendly establishment. The facial technican even prepares her own "all natural" facial masques. As a woman over 50, I needed a stylist who knows how to work with hair that has aged and I was delighted with the knowledge and skill of my stylist who gave me a fabulous cut/style without a dated look. This is a gem of a salon.

Worst Mexican food I have ever eaten. How do you mess up a steak burrito? Well they do here. Steak was like overcooked, cubed dog food, smothered in american and white cheese. NO FLAVORING AT ALL. Chips were stale and the salsa was water. Very disappointed. Decor is in much needed repair and update. On the favorable side, the staff was welcoming, friendly and nice. Too bad the food doesn't live up to the staff.

This location has gone down hill quickly. Food was awful. Hamburger was like old shoe leather as french fries were cold. Requested unsweetened ice tea and received sugered. When we could find our waiter, he did replace the tea but it was warm and without ice. Had to leave the table to flag him down. My sisters salad was warm when it should have been cold and the appetizer tray we had was like day old food. Such a disappointment. Will never come back to this place again.

As the previous review wrote, it is worth the search. Crowe's Lawnmower and Chainsaw repair is good old American customer service and expertise. We have taken our lawnmower for yearly blade sharpening and "physical" twice now and both times have come away with top notch service at a very affordable cost. This year we needed some work done on the mower as well as the blade sharpening and it was under $90.00 for all that needed to be done. Most places want $125.00 just to look at your mower before they do anything else.
